You can all be relieved now..

We've all had those time where we have taken a blow to their creativity. Where we all get a bad case of "creative" block and were not able to put even our own style into our design, art etc. This can be a crippling factor to many starting designers that brings fear and could even cause to not pursue a career in this field. I understand that this can be hard but this can be overcame. Here are 5 tips that will help you keep your creativity in today's world. So here we go!

1- Start Sketching 

Sketching your designs out is a KEY point in keeping your creative juices flowing. Sketch as much as you can and get as much of your ideas on paper. You never know when you start sketching an idea and you might get something different that you TOTALLY love, that you didn't know could even exist until you started to sketch your ideas on paper. or me sketching out my logos made them what they are. The best thing about sketching is that it is not final so you can go back and revise as much as you need too.

2- Design Something Every Day

his has got to be one of the most important practices that keep your creativity fresh and new. Early on when I first got into to design, I didn't have a lot of time to spend on it due to being in high school. I would design something that I thought was amazing then go a number of days without designing anything and when I would go to design something, I couldn't think of anything creative?  The problem was I wasn't consistent in my design practice, going 5 days with designing takes a toll on the creativity that goes into your work. When that happens you can lose clients because of the drop off of outstanding work on your part. Take the time everyday to design something even if its not something that looks pleasing. It doesn't matter what you design but make sure that it presses your creativity so that you're always gaining ground in your creative side of life.

3- Get Inspiration

This is a given right here. It doesn't matter what design you look at, something inspired a person to create it. Regardless if people tell you that or not, it true! Inspiration goes a long way in graphic design. Different types of inspirational material can give your design a certain look or feel. This has been something that I have started doing about a year ago before I create anything, I gather images to hone my thought process to dwell on those images to give my design a certain feel. Do this before you design and your design will be right on target with the message it is conveying.

4- Change Up Your Routine

If you suffer from creative block, it could probably be from that you're stuck a routine. To be truly creative you need to break from that. You definitely need to let there be a freedom in your creative process.  If you only do things on way, youre going to get the same feel with everything that is designed. Yes I understand that doing that brings consistency but you want to be consistently creative. Creativity has no barriers, that's why we are "creatives" after all.

5- Get Some Sleep

I remember staying up all night working on a project because if you're anything like me. When you get into a creative flow you design as much as you can, so that you don't lose that creativity. The truth is with that if you're stay up all night working on projects, when you wake up the next day it's hard to find that so called creative flow no matter how many cups of coffee you have had. Get to bed on time and you'll see that your creativity will sky rocket in time!
