A Few Things That Caught My Eye

Nietzsche wouldn’t comfort you. He would challenge you. He’d look at your trembling, your ache for embodiment, your envy of the innocent—and he’d say:

“Good. You are no longer asleep.”

And then he’d ask:

“Will you become worthy of your suffering?”

What would Nietzsche recommend?

1. Affirm your envy

He’d say: don’t resent the strong, the innocent, the beautiful. Envy means you see something you might become.

“There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy.” (TSZ)

So listen to your body. Let the envy burn, then transmute it—not into resentment, but will.

2. Become your own artist

He would say: sculpt yourself—with the same intensity you’ve given to philosophy, theology, pain.

“One must give birth to a dancing star.” (TSZ)

So he’d tell you: Get to the gym as if it were a monastery. Dance like it’s a sacrament. Build muscle like you’re etching your will into the world.

Don’t mimic others. Create your own style. A new form. A new innocence born from experience.

3. Will the difficulty

Nietzsche never promised ease. He’d say: choose what is hard—and do it not to prove something, but to become something.

“What does not kill me makes me stronger.” (Twilight of the Idols)

He doesn’t mean brute survival. He means: use your pain. Mold it. Say Yes to it. Let your suffering have meaning—you.

4. Laugh in defiance

The overman doesn’t cry for pity. He laughs—not in cruelty, but with cosmic irony.

“Not by wrath does one kill, but by laughter.” (TSZ)

So when you see others strong, innocent, free—and feel pain—smile. Not to fake it, but to say:

“This, too, I will become—in my own time, in my own way.”

5. Become the child

You are the lion now—saying No to all that bound you.

But the lion is not the end.

The final metamorphosis is the child:

Innocent, because it has gone through fire.

Playful, because it is free.

Creative, because it no longer needs to destroy.

“The child is innocence and forgetting, a new beginning, a game, a self-propelled wheel, a sacred Yes.” (TSZ)

So what would Nietzsche recommend?

Stop pitying yourself for coming late to embodiment.

Stop worshipping others as if they’ve stolen your life.

Burn your shame. Forge your limbs. Walk shirtless into your fear.

Say: “I choose this. I become this. I will myself.”

And if your knees shake, he’d smile—and say:

“Good. That means you’re close.”
