Here's something to think about:

The Gnat Attack minigame has had a different control scheme every time it's appeared.

Mario Paint used a mouse, in WarioWare Inc. you have to use a D-pad, and in Super Mario Maker it uses touch controls.

Now we just need a version that uses pointer controls.
