Bringing this AU from the dead, anything for Reverse DL-6 after the seven year time gap, or for the GAA era?
Hellooo!! Thank you for your ask!
Genuinely shocked anyone remembers this au, cuz I almost forgot about it XD
Hmmmm, now for the 7 year gap... I think I'd mimic the way Phoenix was isolated. Franziska might leave for Germany to process everything that happened with her family and to study up more. Miles still has a lot of guilt for what happened in dl-6 case, so he feels like he has no right to ask her to stay with him. Tho they are on good terms, Franziska doesn't blame him and they have a phone call routine.
Phoenix is still in japanofornia, but he's filling Miles' role from the og trilogy, and works on international cases.
I think it would be cool for Miles to kind of addopt Kay, cuz her Byrne either died as in original, or in the true gramarye fashion had to dissapear. But the other difference between the og and this au is that Gumshoe stays loyally on Miles' side and tries to find some clues that would prove that Miles got falsely disbarred. And yes, Miles is disbarred for the similar reason as Phoenix in the og. They are struggling in every universe.
Ooooh, the reverse GAAC au... Before that question, my only similar ideas were that the whole scene of (SPOILERS FOR TGAA2) Barok's sad backstory and Kazuma's return could be redone with the previous generation of their families (as in Klint is Barok, Yujin is Susato, Genshin is Kazuma), for the exception of Ryunosuke, but I always put Seishiro in his place.
But now that I think about it, I have some idea?? It's not really a reverse AU, but a Genshin dies in a duel AU? Like, everything goes as in canon, but duel has a different outcome. Klint wants to bare the blame, but Stronghart (in canon it's said that after realizing where Genshin went, Mael quickly made his way to the Van Zieks residence) forces him to hide the body/rearrange the scene so that Klint wouldn't be arrested. Despite being heavily suspected, Klint escaped conviction and the case went cold. Lady Baskerville still left and since Klint couldn't provide any explanation aside from "she wanted to leave... She shan't come back and we shan't look for her, since she does not want to be found", so Barok (still gravely disturbed by all that was happening) and Gregson didn't really believe him. Behind their backs Klint asked Yujin to help Lady Baskerville to deliver a baby, which he did. Lady Baskerville survives and takes the child with her. Lady Baskerville felt a strong sense of gratitude towards Yujin, so she asked him to name her daughter. (That's how I'm keeping her name Iris, lmao). Japanese students are still sent away, since they were so angry and distraught they had some not so nice words about British Empire and its aristocracy.
10 years have passed and Professor was haunting the streets. Though not as much as before. Incidentally, during that time Van Zieks left to visit Germany for awhile. Gregson was still working with them, though during the 5 year period of their absence he didn't go with them, and dutifully worked in Scotland yard. Though the mysteries of that faithful night and the disappearance of Lady Baskerville keep playing haven't left his mind. and between the cases he keeps on investigating this matters. Sholmes actually does too. Though instead of focusing on searching for the Lady, Herlock tries to figure out what happened during that crime. As in the original, he figured out that the case files are bogus a long time ago and he spends his time trying to find clues.
In Japan everything goes basically the same. Kazuma still wants revenge and find out the truth about his fathers death. And he sets sail for London with Susato as his assistant and Ryunosuke as his parcel.
Also I think it would be fun if during the third case of the second game we actually meet Lady Baskerville and Iris, since they visit the forensic symposium. I hc that Lady Baskerville was very interested in forensic science, but couldn't pursue it due to her gender and status. And Iris grew up interested in science and chemistry and convinced her mama to visit London for the first time in years. All of that came to me cuz I imagined a scene, where during the investigation Gregson suddenly leaves after catching a glimpse of that mysterious Lady witness we meet before. And Ryunosuke has the "didn't expect Inspector to be a skirt chaser" Moment, which is funny in the moment, but in context it's super sad.
And when the whole gang gets to London we basically face off against Barok, who's still pretty powerful. And Klint is supposed to be the final boss, the prosecutor for the last case/two cases. Ofc we figure out that Stronghart was the big bad. But this revelation leaves Barok and Gregson (assuming he survives this long) broken and shocked. They fr do not know how to move on. Yet Klint is happy, because he's finally free of these shackles. And that his extortioner gets his punishment.
Idk, I came up with all of this stuff on the spot, so it's not a very plotted put AU. Just a bunch of fan service lmao and bullshittery.
Hope this answers your questions!!
