Alex closed his eyes and smiled when she kissed his forehead. Her lips always sent a jolt of electricity through his body no matter where they were. She could just kiss his cheek and butterflies would erupt in his tummy. “I know, but I want to thank you. You took care of me when I was sick. And I’m going to thank you for that.” He looked down at her, pushing her hair back behind her ear.

There was no place on earth that Rory would ever want to find herself, rather than in Alex's arms. The two could spend the entire day just laying in silence, and she would have been completely satisfied when the clock hit midnight hours, not a single moment regretting the hours she'd invested in the boy. Shaking her head, Rory pushed herself up a bit, to peer up at his green eyes. "You should just expect that, though." She mumbled. "I'm always going to want to take care of you."

The pain in his side was starting to die down and he knew that he was healing well. The stitches had been taken out a few days ago, leaving behind a think, pink scar on his abdomen. But he knew that if it hadn’t been for Rory being there for him when he had even the stupidest of requests, he wouldn’t have healed as well. Being around her was relaxing and left Alex at peace. She was his entire world. Alex leaned his cheek against her head and smiled. “I love you,” he mumbled, the words only for her. “Thank you for taking care of me.”

Rory knew she probably wasn't the best help around, but she hoped that she was enough, to actually take care of her boyfriend. She knew if something had ever happened to her, he would do the same, just as he had promised to stay awake with her, after her wreck. Leaning up to pressed a lingering kiss against his forehead, Rory shaped right back against the boy, comfortable pressed to his side. "I love you, too." She whispered. "You don't have to thank me though."

Ever since the discovery of his appendicitis, Rory had been nothing but smothering in the process of trying to make his healing time easier. Whether it be a simple poorly cooked meal or running a bath for him, she was trying her hardest. She wasn't used to taking care of somebody else like this. But, she wanted to, because if anybody deserved it, it was Alex. Rory was convinced that that boy had hung the moon and every star by hand, and nothing could waver such a mindset. Laying there beside him, Rory merely snuggled closer to his side, letting her hand rest against his chest. "Shuddup," She mumbled, hiding her flushed cheeks against his side. Alex's compliments would never cease to make her stomach flip, though she still hadn't quite caught on to accepting them properly.
