kill your darlings

the premise had been a running joke of goldilocks & the three bears, courtesy of the jaeger captain, it was wholly a joke that the dragoness decided to run with--if only for the simplicity of the costume itself. really, all it took was a headband. something that was, in reality, more effort than their captain even bothered to offer--considering the fact that there was going to be no appearance on their behalf.

she’s enough to “rep” for them, apparently.

nonetheless, seulgi had to give credit where credit’s due & if there’s anything alpha knows, it’s how to throw a fair party. had she been the type to party, this would be the type she’s attend--not that alpha would openly embrace any jaeger here. if anything, she, and the rest of the legacy, was entering the lion’s den.

but what was with this weak spiked punch?

“where can someone get a real drink around here?”

weekends are naturally spent at home—that much has beensomething the dragoness had long grown accustomed to after years spent at the university. all in all, they had chosen this particular university for its closeness to their home more than anything; the monster program had only been a bit of a bonus. not that the likes of seulgi or her “brother” would ever inform their mother—their blissfully oblivious & sweet as lilies mother—of the violently nasty truth.

fabricated stories and reasons for broken arms and more had been told over the span of years—all to ease the furrowing of her mother’s soft brows & the delicate frown which played on thin lips—she would do that and more to put her at ease.

not that seulgi ever had a problem with lying.

wonsik made sure to remind her of that.

nonetheless, even he knows better than to slip the truth after over a decade of keeping up with pretenses, of dealing with being sat next to an imposter and posing for family photos—exchanging gifts, stomaching dinner. alas, the act would be that much more believable had she not known from day one that her “brother” hated her.

& yet, for the sake of their mother.

they live on like this.

wretchedly.

“are you just going to glare at me all night? here, dry this.” the younger woman speaks, voice firm & eyes flashing an icy hue of green before shoving the plate in her hand onto the taller male beside her.

following tradition—weekend dinners easily shifted into partnered dishwashing, much to both of their distaste.

as it was, the jaeger house is almost always deserted--home of a numbered few who’d more so live among provided dormitories and the works than the legacy’s house itself. now, whether that had been personal preference or the work of a hypnotic dragoness on the search for more storage space--is still up in the air. even so, seulgi is among the few that actually lives within its doors--sub-par living room lighting and all.

she rather enjoyed the silence though.

bare soles padding across mahogany, the slender woman takes her time traversing through the vacated house, a pint of mint gelato in grasp as a quiet & contented hum follows her through the hall and down the stairs. there could be better things to do on a friday night, seulgi supposes, but as of late her interest laid in spending time alone more than anything.

should probably chalk that up to pre-season laziness. 

but what a surprise it was to find another pair of eyes staring back at her at the end of the stairs.

so i was thinking of making a sideblog for ooc so we can discuss....jaegerly matters like maybe a neatchat (since i think a 5-7 person group para would take too long) where they have a meeting and introduce the two (?) first years to the rest of the group officially & what not... i think that would be kinda cool idk.... ends lamely and cries
