Thank you for bringing this up! You actually got a point here: we saw Pudding falling for Sanji but we don’t know if the thing is reciprocated.

In late chapters, even after the whole “husband and wife in disguise” thing, Sanji has been keeping a serious attitude, which is weird since Sanji’s lovecook gags were the ones to appear the most, even in the most crucial moments of the story… maybe because Pudding took his place? Who knows.

There are tons of ways to interpret the story right now. The way I personally choose to see things is that Sanji finally found the girl he has been dreaming of ever since he was a baby.

To answer to your question, I will explain my five reasons why I believe (hope ahahah) Pudding is different at his eyes:

Pudding is the first person he totally opened up to. Not even Luffy and his crew knew anything about his real family or his past. He showed her all of his weaknesses and insecurities while he is the guy who always tries to look tough in front of literally everyone, ladies in particular. I don’t remember a single time Sanji gave this much trust to anybody else.

2.

This one here is the FIRST TIME EVER Sanji makes a sincere compliment to a girl without it being a gag moment. Look at his face, his eyes are sparkling and his cheeks are red. Sanji usually takes a girl’s beauty for granted but he didn’t with Pudding!

As for the most recent chapters, I noticed Sanji is going way less and less lovey-dovey to Pudding. Right now, in his eyes, she is not another one of those angelic beings known as women, she’s just a skilled chocolatier who is helping his crew to escape.

I can’t even imagine how Sanji must have been feeling flattered and excited knowing that, in the whole world, a single girl who likes him back (heart-eyes level) actually exists and she’s also coincidentially his almost-wife ahahah

I don’t know how many times he dreamt of something like this: cooking together with a girl who simply loves him. That’s all.

On a sidenote, if Sanji is the one to like every type of girl, Pudding herself IS every possible type girl! She can go from being the harsh femme fatale to the cutest and girliest lady in the world.

PUDDING. IS. THE. FIRST. GIRL. EVER. WHO. BROKE. SANJI’S. HEART.

How many times did girls insult him and/or turn him down? We all know this happens on daily basis. Does he cry like this everytime it happens? Nope. This was the only time in his life he actually believed in a single girl’s love and her refusal broke him to pieces.

What a weak argument when talking about SanPu, huh? It is undeniable though how much this thing changed him on a personal level: she taught him to put his wishes first, she taught him that girls can be different from what he actually believes them to be and this whole thing gave him the strenght to go back to Luffy.

Besides, even after Pudding betrayed his trust, he never hated her for that. On the contrary: he kept respecting her, protecting her, he was shown to genuinely care about her well-being and, most importantly, he still trusted her when she proposed the cake plan.

I often read comments about how somebody with a power like Pudding is too dangerous to be trusted. However, I find this to be the final connection between Sanji and Pudding.

In a world perfectly devided in four sections with four equally large oceans, it’s physically impossible to prove the existence of a fifth ocean that connects them all, the All Blue; only a fool would believe the stories they tell about it. And yet Sanji still stands on that boat, sailing to find it. This whole thing speaks volumes about what ‘having faith’ really means.

Thus, who in the world can even trust a good actress with three eyes and a power able to change your past and destroy your personality with a snap of her fingers, if not a man looking for the All Blue?

To conclude I only want to add that I also consider relevant the fact that she was written to be a perfect match for Sanji: they spent similar childhoods due to their abusive families, they are big thinkers who tend to make big decisions and to act alone (see Sanji Mr. Prince moments and the whole Pudding attacking Reiju deal), they both had to hide an eye under their bangs for various reasons and a lot more stuff.

Also, the fact that they both share interests and passions is great in my eyes; I NEVER would have wanted Sanji to end up with a girl who doesn’t look at food the way he does.

If you ship SanPu and are sensitive on the matter then I suggest you skip this post. This post is not intended for SanPu fans and I do not ship that pairing. The last thing I want to do is start a shipping war and annoy SanPu fans. Shipping is suppose to be fun anyways. Right?

Please note that I am a SaNami shipper too and that this post (were I tried my best on being as neutral as possible) might end up being biased. Please also note I am just one SaNami shipper and this post is in no way a reflexion on anyone else’s opinion but my own. Of course you are free to ship whatever you want and I would not have it any other way.

Let me start of by saying I do not think SanPu will happen. I do not think Sanji will promise to come back for her and I certainly do not think he will get married this arc. I am not worried by the recent chapters the fanbase has labeled as “SanPu” and am not bothered one bit over it.I am writing this post just to say what I think is going on in the story and give my ideas on what I think Puddings future might be. 

Now, the most recent chapters of OP have developed a new-ish ship to the OP fanbase with Pudding becoming a funny Tsundere for Sanji.

This action being a big change for Pudding and comes as a result of Sanjis compliment to her third eye(something no one had ever done).

Of course this is all great if you ship the two but I just cant help but feel like a HUGE section of the story is being forgotten or ignored when discussing SanPu. That is of course Pudding being evil

.After 844 and Sanjis rejection of Luffy and Nami and seeing the enraged army he starts to worry over his friends.

 He is depressed when he meets up with Pudding and when Pudding tells him they need to talk he decides to open himself up and says to Pudding how he is treated by his family. He is amazed at how kind she is. He notices her tears( something he is particularly weak to) and decides to give into the marriage.

Later of course we find out Sanji only agreed to the marriage to save Luffy and his friend.

but lets not forget just how much he tried to force himself into dedicating himself to Pudding.

He tells himself he doesn’t want to hurt her and so he pushes himself into “love cook” mode. He doesn’t love her yet he has no choice and wants to be happy in his life (now that he will have to be with his evil family and leave his friends behind). He is making the best out of a bad situation and even tries to make her a bento in hopes she feels better. Of course he ends up making one for his crew (the people he really cares about) but he is still trying his best. Unfortunately for him, this happens…

The last ray of hope Sanji had is taken away. Sanji is then mocked, humiliated, insulted and made to cry. 

We find out Pudding also shot Reiju and mocked Sanjis swollen face. She showed no sympathy whatsoever for Sanji’s past(even when she went through a similar thing) and made fun of him for it.

Like I said before, Sanji was not in love with Pudding. Sanji might get heart eyes for every pretty girl he sees but that does not mean he is in love. He got heart eyed over seeing Puddings picture the first time 

yet he kept on saying he wont marry her repeatedly afterwords.

Yet, in 850-851 he was reminded just how little hope he had. The Vinsmokes would be killed and he had no were to go.

Thankfully Luffy was there for him and gave him back hope (by knocking some sense back into him). Luffy gets Sanji to admit he wants to return to the sunny and gets him to say he wants to save his family because even though they are the worst, Sanji doesn’t have it in himself to let his family die (highlighting once again Sanji’s kindness).

It is extremely important to note that It was only after Luffy’s talked with Sanji that the rain stopped falling and he was reunited with his real family (at least a part of them). 

It was also then that Sanji somewhat made up with Nami.^^

That rain stopping is important because it symbolizes Sanjis suffering is now over and makes it clear that it will be his time to shine. While it rained Sanji suffered Puddings cruelty and found out about his hopeless situation.The moment the rain stopped falling for Sanji was the moment things turned around for him. It was after this point Sanji made Pudding cry using his kindness (which was similar to him crying). Karma hit Pudding then.

It was also after that moment were Judge, the person responsible for Sanji suffering as a kid and in WCI, also began to cry (also like Sanji) and show just how pathetic he really is.

His “superior” kids didn’t help him and didn’t even care about being killed.His plan of making the perfect soldiers was a failure and it was only the one he saw as a “failure” who ended up saving him.

 It was only after the rain where Sanji showed just how amazing, kind and useful he could be.

You see, I don’t think Puddings crush on Sanji as Oda developing anything he intends on making canon. I think Pudding is suffering from the same thing Judge suffered and might still suffer. Karma.

Pudding might be helping Sanji right now and might have turned into the sweet and cute girl she pretended to be but that does not take away from her earlier actions.

Lets not forget that after Sanji saved the Vinsmokes they also helped him out and saved his friends. 

That is just an example of Sanji’s kindness gaining him friends and turning enemies into allies.Something that’s not exactly new. It happened with Gin,Duval,Marine G5, and recently with Violet.

Regardless, Sanji still doesn’t consider himself a Vinsmokes and has his revenge here.

Judge’s face is the face of someone with regrets. It was the”failure” the”good for nothing” that saved them after all.

This is exactly what I think is happening with Pudding. I don’t think her tragic backstory is there to excuse her behavior. I knew she was not as evil as she acted since her flashback of Lola but, yet again. that was the chapter she said this to Luffy and Nami.

She wasn’t always good. It was Sanjis kindness that turned her into a kind girl. Her flashback doesn’t change anything. If judge ends up having a tragic backstory ( like I believe he will) then that will also not excuse his actions and Sanji wont suddenly decide on becoming a Vinsmoke if that happens. It could be as sad and as close to Sanjis past as possible but that wont change anything.

Honestly, I can see Oda giving Judge the same eyebrows Sanji has and a backstory similar to him as well. That doesn’t matter. Sanji’s true father will always be Zeff and Pudding wont end up with him either.

What will Pudings role be from now on?

Well, she is a member of the three eyed tribe so she might show up and help the SH’s once her third eye awakens (I still think Gin will show up) but until then I see her finding a fiance. Sanji might not be as tough with Pudding as he was to Judge (since he is a  gentlemen) but I really think he will reject her at the end(maybe for dorobo neko Nami ^^) .

I think their last interaction in this arc will be like what Pudding said when she first met Sanji’s crew and Sanji will say something like this.(Sanji of course is just being a gentlemen and turning her down gently).

Something Pudding and everyone else took as a rejection.She went on to say

 Pudding was acting when she said all of this but I can definitely see her having a similar reaction now that she has become a kind girl.

In fact, there is something else I would like like to add, after Pudding expresses her disappointment in not marrying Sanji she has this to say

She talks about her future fiance in a very suspicious way. I believe this is foreshadowing since I see her leaving WCI after this arc.

And there is no comparison to be made between Pudding and Nami. Nami hasn’t used him as a tool for 20 years, that is a huge exaggeration. And just like you said, she hasn’t attempted to murder him, she hasn’t made him cry and she has not shot his sister. 

Sanji will forgive her because he is weak to women but that does not mean he is suddenly gonna fall in love with her. I already explained the heart eyes in the post. Even Viola didn’t make Sanji cry and push him into his darkest moment in the arc, 850-851.That’s what makes her less  suitable and that’s why I don’t think it will happen. I think it’s honestly just karma for her being a bitch earlier. 

I think it is great you have already forgiven Pudding for what she did but I think what she did is still terrible, regardless of whether or not she killed anyone (not that she didn’t try). Shooting Reiju is already terrible and, even though she was a product of her environment, that doesn’t excuse her behavior. Honestly, I think I have already addressed this in my post. Pudding might have been trying to just please BM but that still does not excuse her behavior. Reiju was also forced to do stuff against Sanji yet he helped him against orders (the handcuffs). 

Yes now Pudding is good but, yet again, I already addressed that in my post. I think this is just karma for her. Nothing else. The Vinsmokes helped Sanji too, did they not?

Not falling in love with Pudding is also not out of character for Sanii, despite what you believe. But this is yet another thing I addressed in my post.And it is also not anti Sanji to think he wont fall for a girl who will probably go find a different husband after this arc. Even if she stays single there is no reason Sanji would fall in love with her. Sanji won’t just hook up with just anyone. 

I know Nami uses Sanji from time to time but it does not happen as often as you initially said. You purposefully exaggerated there and those gag moments are not at all comparable with serious stuff like Pudding roasting Sanji in 850-851. Are they?

I am not worried by the recent chapters the fanbase has labeled as “SanPu” and am not bothered one bit over it.I am writing this post just to say what I think is going on in the story and give my ideas on what I think Puddings future might be. 

Now, the most recent chapters of OP have developed a new-ish ship to the OP fanbase with Pudding becoming a funny Tsundere for Sanji.

This action being a big change for Pudding and comes as a result of Sanjis compliment to her third eye(something no one had ever done).

Of course this is all great if you ship the two but I just cant help but feel like a HUGE section of the story is being forgotten or ignored when discussing SanPu. That is of course Pudding being evil

.After 844 and Sanjis rejection of Luffy and Nami and seeing the enraged army he starts to worry over his friends.

 He is depressed when he meets up with Pudding and when Pudding tells him they need to talk he decides to open himself up and says to Pudding how he is treated by his family. He is amazed at how kind she is. He notices her tears( something he is particularly weak to) and decides to give into the marriage.

Later of course we find out Sanji only agreed to the marriage to save Luffy and his friend.

but lets not forget just how much he tried to force himself into dedicating himself to Pudding.

He tells himself he doesn’t want to hurt her and so he pushes himself into “love cook” mode. He doesn’t love her yet he has no choice and wants to be happy in his life (now that he will have to be with his evil family and leave his friends behind). He is making the best out of a bad situation and even tries to make her a bento in hopes she feels better. Of course he ends up making one for his crew (the people he really cares about) but he is still trying his best. Unfortunately for him, this happens…

The last ray of hope Sanji had is taken away. Sanji is then mocked, humiliated, insulted and made to cry. 

We find out Pudding also shot Reiju and mocked Sanjis swollen face. She showed no sympathy whatsoever for Sanji’s past(even when she went through a similar thing) and made fun of him for it.

Like I said before, Sanji was not in love with Pudding. Sanji might get heart eyes for every pretty girl he sees but that does not mean he is in love. He got heart eyed over seeing Puddings picture the first time 

yet he kept on saying he wont marry her repeatedly afterwords.

Yet, in 850-851 he was reminded just how little hope he had. The Vinsmokes would be killed and he had no were to go.

Thankfully Luffy was there for him and gave him back hope (by knocking some sense back into him). Luffy gets Sanji to admit he wants to return to the sunny and gets him to say he wants to save his family because even though they are the worst, Sanji doesn’t have it in himself to let his family die (highlighting once again Sanji’s kindness).

It is extremely important to note that It was only after Luffy’s talked with Sanji that the rain stopped falling and he was reunited with his real family (at least a part of them). 

It was also then that Sanji somewhat made up with Nami.^^

That rain stopping is important because it symbolizes Sanjis suffering is now over and makes it clear that it will be his time to shine. While it rained Sanji suffered Puddings cruelty and found out about his hopeless situation.The moment the rain stopped falling for Sanji was the moment things turned around for him. It was after this point Sanji made Pudding cry using his kindness (which was similar to him crying). Karma hit Pudding then.

It was also after that moment were Judge, the person responsible for Sanji suffering as a kid and in WCI, also began to cry (also like Sanji) and show just how pathetic he really is.

His “superior” kids didn’t help him and didn’t even care about being killed.His plan of making the perfect soldiers was a failure and it was only the one he saw as a “failure” who ended up saving him.

You see, I don’t think Puddings crush on Sanji as Oda developing anything he intends on making canon. I think Pudding is suffering from the same thing Judge suffered and might still suffer. Karma.

Pudding might be helping Sanji right now and might have turned into the sweet and cute girl she pretended to be but that does not take away from her earlier actions.

If judge ends up having a tragic backstory ( like I believe he will) then that will also not excuse his actions and Sanji wont suddenly decide on becoming a Vinsmoke if that happens. It could be as sad and as close to Sanjis past as possible but that wont change anything.

Honestly, I can see Oda giving Judge the same eyebrows Sanji has and a backstory similar to him as well. That doesn’t matter. Sanji’s true father will always be Zeff and Pudding wont end up with him either.

What will Pudings role be from now on?

Well, she is a member of the three eyed tribe so she might show up and help the SH’s once her third eye awakens (I still think Gin will show up) but until then I see her finding a fiance. This is exactly what I think is happening with Pudding. I don’t think her tragic backstory is there to excuse her behavior. I knew she was not as evil as she acted since her flashback of Lola but, yet again. that was the chapter she said this to Luffy and Nami.

She wasn’t always good. It was Sanjis kindness that turned her into a kind girl. Her flashback doesn’t change anything. If judge ends up having a tragic backstory ( like I believe he will) then that will also not excuse his actions and Sanji wont suddenly decide on becoming a Vinsmoke if that happens. It could be as sad and as close to Sanjis past as possible but that wont change anything.

Honestly, I can see Oda giving Judge the same eyebrows Sanji has and a backstory similar to him as well. That doesn’t matter. Sanji’s true father will always be Zeff and Pudding wont end up with him either.

What will Pudings role be from now on?

Well, she is a member of the three eyed tribe so she might show up and help the SH’s once her third eye awakens (I still think Gin will show up) but until then I see her finding a fiance. Sanji might not be as tough with Pudding as he was to Judge (since he is a  gentlemen) but I really think he will reject her at the end(maybe for dorobo neko Nami ^^) .

I think their last interaction in this arc will be like what Pudding said when she first met Sanji’s crew and Sanji will say something like this.(Sanji of course is just being a gentlemen and turning her down gently).

Something Pudding and everyone else took as a rejection.She went on to say

 Pudding was acting when she said all of this but I can definitely see her having a similar reaction now that she has become a kind girl.

In fact, there is something else I would like like to add, after Pudding expresses her disappointment in not marrying Sanji she has this to say

She talks about her future fiance in a very suspicious way. I believe this is foreshadowing since I see her leaving WCI after this arc. 

Well, with all the recent talks about Pudding and SanPu I could not resist on writing my person opinion on the matter. I don’t know how good it is but I really just wanted to get somethings off my chest.

If you ship SanPu and are sensitive on the matter then I suggest you skip this post. The last thing I want to do is start a shipping war and annoy SanPu fans. Shipping is suppose to be fun anyways. Right?

Please note that I am a SaNami shipper too and that this post (were I tried my best on being as neutral as possible) might end up being biased. Of course you are free to ship whatever you want and I would not have it any other way.

Now then, now that that is out of the way,lets begin…

Let me start of by saying I do not think SanPu will happen. I do not think Sanji will promise to come back for her and I certainly do not think he will get married this arc. I am not worried by the recent chapters the fanbase has labeled as “SanPu” and am not bothered one bit over it.I am writing this post just to say what I think is going on in the story and give my ideas on what I think Puddings future might be. 

Now, the most recent chapters of OP have developed a new-ish ship to the OP fanbase with Pudding becoming a funny Tsundere for Sanji.

This action being a big change for Pudding and comes as a result of Sanjis compliment to her third eye(something no one had ever done).

Of course this is all great if you ship the two but I just cant help but feel like a HUGE section of the story is being forgotten or ignored when discussing SanPu. That is of course Pudding being evil

.After 844 and Sanjis rejection of Luffy and Nami and seeing the enraged army he starts to worry over his friends.

 He is depressed when he meets up with Pudding and when Pudding tells him they need to talk he decides to open himself up and says to Pudding how he is treated by his family. He is amazed at how kind she is. He notices her tears( something he is particularly weak to) and decides to give into the marriage.

Later of course we find out Sanji only agreed to the marriage to save Luffy and his friend.

but lets not forget just how much he tried to force himself into dedicating himself to Pudding.

He tells himself he doesn’t want to hurt her and so he pushes himself into “love cook” mode. He doesn’t love her yet he has no choice and wants to be happy in his life (now that he will have to be with his evil family and leave his friends behind). He is making the best out of a bad situation and even tries to make her a bento in hopes she feels better. Of course he ends up making one for his crew (the people he really cares about) but he is still trying his best. Unfortunately for him, this happens…

The last ray of hope Sanji had is taken away. Sanji is then mocked, humiliated, insulted and made to cry. 

We find out Pudding also shot Reiju and mocked Sanjis swollen face. She showed no sympathy whatsoever for Sanji’s past(even when she went through a similar thing) and made fun of him for it.

Like I said before, Sanji was not in love with Pudding. Sanji might get heart eyes for every pretty girl he sees but that does not mean he is in love. He got heart eyed over seeing Puddings picture the first time 

yet he kept on saying he wont marry her repeatedly afterwords.

Yet, in 850-851 he was reminded just how little hope he had. The Vinsmokes would be killed and he had no were to go.

Thankfully Luffy was there for him and gave him back hope (by knocking some sense back into him). Luffy gets Sanji to admit he wants to return to the sunny and gets him to say he wants to save his family because even though they are the worst, Sanji doesn’t have it in himself to let his family die (highlighting once again Sanji’s kindness).

It is extremely important to note that It was only after Luffy’s talked with Sanji that the rain stopped falling and he was reunited with his real family (at least a part of them). 

It was also then that Sanji somewhat made up with Nami.^^

That rain stopping is important because it symbolizes Sanjis suffering is now over and makes it clear that it will be his time to shine. While it rained Sanji suffered Puddings cruelty and found out about his hopeless situation.The moment the rain stopped falling for Sanji was the moment things turned around for him. It was after this point Sanji made Pudding cry using his kindness (which was similar to him crying). Karma hit Pudding then.

It was also after that moment were Judge, the person responsible for Sanji suffering as a kid and in WCI, also began to cry (also like Sanji) and show just how pathetic he really is.

His “superior” kids didn’t help him and didn’t even care about being killed.His plan of making the perfect soldiers was a failure and it was only the one he saw as a “failure” who ended up saving him.

 It was only after the rain where Sanji showed just how amazing, kind and useful he could be.

You see, I don’t think Puddings crush on Sanji as Oda developing anything he intends on making canon. I think Pudding is suffering from the same thing Judge suffered and might still suffer. Karma.

Pudding might be helping Sanji right now and might have turned into the sweet and cute girl she pretended to be but that does not take away from her earlier actions.

Lets not forget that after Sanji saved the Vinsmokes they also helped him out and saved his friends. 

That is just an example of Sanji’s kindness gaining him friends and turning enemies into allies.Something that’s not exactly new. It happened with Gin,Duval,Marine G5, and recently with Violet.

I see too many LuffyxNami shippers being way too aggressive with other shippers and vice-versa. A bunch of ganging up, name calling, and insults between different ships IS NOT something I support in my blog or in my shipping fandom. It is nothing more than BULLYING. I think shipping should be something that everyone can enjoy. People have a right to support whatever ship they like and people don’t have the right to bash someone for it.   There are ships that I do not like and even hate, but I try my best to not bad mouth other ships and shippers in my blog because it’s about respect. Even if the other side is not showing any respect towards you, you should just ignore it or try to show some respect towards them because it makes you the bigger person. Don’t give me that bullshit excuse of “We have to defend ourselves”. That answer is UNACCEPTABLE. If you want to defend your ship, then make posts that builds supports within your shipping fandom and NOT to argue against other shippers that oppose your ship. It will get you no where. I don’t want to hear “It will make them and their ship look stupid because they can’t defend their ship and bring support for our ship.” SHUT! THE! FUCK! UP! Leave the other shippers alone because at that point you are only trying to make yourself feel good by putting other people down.  I understand that some people do not do anything, but still get hate and all I can say is just ignore the haters or you can simply block whoever is harassing you.  The kind of shipping I like is showing actual moments, hints, and development that shows why I think my otp will happen. Whether you think your ship will happen or not you shouldn’t care what people say because what matters is what you like and want (unless Oda says otherwise). Remember these are only fictional characters. People shouldn’t obsess on One Piece or on pairings. You have other things in life you should prioritize on. If you obsess, then you could end up getting depressed when things don’t go your way. I made my blog as a hobby that I can peacefully enjoy. A lot of the time people should just go with the flow in One Piece and just accept things that Oda gives the readers and not complain because he is the author of the series.  If you felt mad or offended by my post, then GOOD because all that says is that you have bullied someone too and you are upset that someone had pointed out the actions you have done. I hope people can ship in peace again and stop with childish nonsense because this doesn’t make supporting pairings any fun. I hope this post helps people of all kinds of fandoms. Sincerely,

Hello there!

Now, I’m not saying that SaNami has to or will happen 100%. But there are a few things that I personally would see as odd choices in the story writing from Oda’s part if Sanji and Nami ends up with other people. (If no one is confirmed by the end it can all just be hinted at and all shippers can interpret as they’d like.)

Now this is just my own small list of things that come to mind that I find quite curious and personally see as possible hints at SaNami happening by the end of One Piece.

10. Have them both talk about and be curious about the other’s past and even feelings. Of course this could still just be seen as nakamaship, but the weird part is why Oda would so often choose them specifically for this.

9. Having Nami being the driving force to save Sanji. Why in Zou have Nami be much more focused on getting to Sanji than any other strawhat, even more than Luffy. (Also, Sanji being the driving force when Nami is in danger, but that one is so obvious so…)

8. Having Sanji sacrifice himself for Nami multiple times. And also Oda seemingly avoiding them knowing about it by having them being unconcious pretty much every time it happens. I mean, he took a knife in the back for her!

7. Seeing Sanji run off to save Nami despite being with a woman who sort of returned his flirting. Even Viola herself seemed to see something was up.

6. The heart-shaped sakura between them. Right before an arc that focuses on Sanji’s wedding. I mean, it’s not neccessary, so why draw it at all? (Also, other color spreads with nice SaNami interactions.)

5. Making Nami answer Sanji’s confessions with “yes yes”, even as a joke. Also, not denying him. It would have been so easy for her to simply say “No, you idiot!” Having Sanji ask only Nami about her loving him is another interesting choice.

4. Having Nami step in to fight for and “avenge Sanji”. Both vs. Califa and in Skypiea when she protects Sanji and Usopp. Also the fact that she had that talk about his chivalry and even specifically said that “I won’t let her get away with this.“ about Califa.

3. Focusing most of Sanji’s flirting towards Nami instead of spreading it out. Seriously, Robin has so little Sanji-interaction in comparison to Nami that it’s almost weird. Also, Nami was the first woman Sanji showed heart eyes to. She was special right from the start.

2. That slap. Because it leads to tension that needs to be resolved, and it might possibly become a catalyst for change in the relationship between Sanji and Nami. Either way that slap is perhaps not romantic, but it does give off a feeling of deep emotions. Also, the thunder that timed perfectly with Sanji and Purin hugging. I said that was an ominous sign for Sanji x Pruin when the chapter first came out and I’m pretty sure it’s no coincidence that Oda decided to show that it was Nami who produced that huge lightning. Basically there has been a lot of Sanji/Purin/Nami drama… And speaking of.

1. The wedding themes. Thriller Bark, WCI, Omake Family Time and in two movies. I mean, this is just cruel fanservice at this point if they end up with anyone else. Also, the fact that Nami is called “Cat Burglar” which can mean husband stealer (Lola even used it in that context in Thriller Bark) and now we know that Purin is evil. If Nami fights Purin, that would definitely be number one on this list.

#9 Luffy Zoro and Nami are said to be the main keys of one piece. Despite the other straw hats opinions. They got the most time to discuss what there decision would be. Not to mention Nami herself is a very caring individual. She fought for Usopp and Robin with a similar amount of vigor during water seven. This as well makes more sense as a nakama thing lol.

#8  well the straw hats themselves would sacrifice a lot for each other. Sanji going lengths for Nami is definitely special. but not extremely romantic outside of his own pervy nature. Sanji would go to great lengths for any women. He took a beating for voila and etc. Another thing is that Sanji did fail his mission to save Nami. Lola and herself was the person to save her in the end. Sanji just helped out by weakening Absalom. If she was to find out about what hed at thriller bark. I'm sure it would be played for laughs wonder why he failed bed or she possibly says thanks.

#7 unless I'm missing something, there is nothing to indicate this outside of Voila saying the sunny was but by lightning. Sanji went to protect the crew on the ship. Not just Nami.

#6 that heart is only going one way lol. And as I recall, Nami was reacting to the scene the group was putting on. Not just Sanji. Not mention Edo Japanese waitresses were meant  fake  emotions to con men out of their money.

#5 you answered this one yourself. It was mostly just a gag. Looking in deeper into it is shipping goggles.

#4 this is definitely a nakama moment. Especially when looking the official translation. 

#3 kind of a stretch given that Sanji doesn't treat Nami differentially then  girls. Especially since Chan is affectionate then San. This is just seemingly more prevalent Nami has more screen time then girls.

#2 this is just speculative. The slap doesn't hold as tension that it is a necessity to be resolved. But it will resolved, just not in the sappy way people want it to be. All Sanji has to do is apologize to Luffy. Nami slapped Sanji because of his treatment Luffy. And that will be what makes amends. And Nami versus pudding is extremely fannon. Even now, luffy has shown more hostility to pudding then Nami. Not to mention that pudding  a fighter. The jealous that people claim to be brewing between them is not there lol.

#1 the only example that counts is thriller bark. whole cake Island is about family and Sanjis for said family. Him getting married is just way it all together. The other two aren't even made by Oda. Nami being called that doesn't mean she actually does that. If you want apply it this arc. That would need to stretch Namis concern Sanjis concern for him to be about his wedding. instead of his safety, as it's always been.
