Mike Kaluta’s The Shadow is Classic!

A great looking graphic novel that’s also a great read.

It’s rather nice to see an Alex Ross painting, and say to myself, “That’s amazing!” He’s been been impressing for decades.

This cover is impressive each time I look at it.

These comics were the beginnings of a life long love for the artist Barry Windsor Smith. The art was interesting from the beginning and became mesmerizing by issue 19, and mind boggling by the finale issue 24. Then BWS blew us all away with Red Nails in Savage Tales 2 and 3. It was the most amazing developement of a comicbook artist that I’d ever seen. Watching that development was a highlight of my comicbook fandom.

Jim, Scott, and Alex after all of these years together are still at the top of their game!!! Respect.

The GREAT Dave Stevens. He was an incredible talent. Few people have used the brush with his grace and beauty. I’m thinking Frazetta, Schultz, Williamson, Raymond, and Stevens.

Aaron Lopresti does Classic Space Ghost. Very impressive.
