I enjoyed Memory Rick's first appearance in season five, but "Hot Rick" kind of ruined him for me. I mean, he was so obsessed with Diane that he didn't care that he was driving his daughter insane? Or that he basically killed another version of her? He wanted to be a good father to Memory Beth, but the real one was just a puppet to him.

It's a pretty strong contrast to C-137 Rick, who frantically revived Space Beth before teaming up with her to track down Earth Beth and remove the sentient memories causing her distress. Plus, unlike Memory Rick, he's willing to try to let go of the past.

#I kind of loved that tbh just because it SHOWED how much our rick has changed #idk I’m also willing to give memory rick some slack since he’s technically how BP remembers rick at that age #and BP didn’t see how rick was as a dad or see him interact with his Beth #to him at that age that is what Rick was all about #I also worked at the line when memory rick said he hadn’t gotten this far as far as parenting #meaning he himself doesn’t remember how to parent since BP wasn’t there for that #HOWEEEEVEEEEERRR #this is a veeeeeery thin excuse #the whole ‘just a memory and depending on where they came from their personality could be different’ thing confuses me #unfortunately the copy paste was right I am not smart enough for rick and morty #rick and morty

The Rick and Morty season 8 finale was so perfect I was actually sobbing but i wish they would’ve told us who raised Beth?? Like if Rick left and Diane was dead then who took care of Beth?? I don’t think that’s ever been talked abt tbh

#in my mind I think prime rick killed c-137 Diane very early on but didn’t use the omega device on other Diane’s for a while #like he didn’t kill our Diane with it I’m thinking he did it later on while rick was chasing him #and at that point most Beth’s including ours had grown up #idk the timeline is a little wonky especially when other realities are taken into consideration #it is a little frustrating where the rules are not really well explained or are assumed #I think the show would really benefit from moving away from ‘this is how sci fi concepts work in other fiction’#and go to ‘this is how OUR sci fi concepts work’#but anyways #rick and morty
