A: “To be honest...I don’t think I’d get an invite. I mean, if Mai was too sexy, then how would I have any chance of getting in?”
I want to apologize for my lack of progress in the Shantae Risky Boot’s fanfiction series. For this post, I want to announce a few things and discuss Shantae: Starlights in Burning Land.
First, writing Risky Boots: Book of the Genie Realm was always for two purposes:
1. To have fun!
2. To create a fan written sequel to the original Shantae trilogy that I felt Shantae Half-Genie Hero failed to deliver.
Originally, Shantae: Starlights in Burning Land was going to be a sequel to Risky Boots: BotGR and nothing more. But, as I have written more chapters and settled into the concept, I’ve come to realize that I am resting on yet another sequential plot to the Shantae trilogy. There are so many possibilities for an impactful story, especially after replaying the original trilogy during my short break away from writing, that ignoring such an opportunity would be foolish on my part.
So, since book 1 of Shantae: SiBL has been completed, I‘ve had some time to reconsider where I want this story to go. Although the major plot points have not changed, I have decided to move this finale for Risky Boots Series toward the original intent of my work. This will now be another fanfiction to satisfy more plot points left behind in Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse and games before!
Expect more romance, more action, and more suspense than ever.
I promise that I will continue working on Shantae: SiBL soon.
That being said, I am considering the idea of a Shantae New Years fiction short, but I can’t guarantee it at this point.

This story inspired me to create fanfiction in general, but it is also (in my opinion) a pinnacle example of Shantae fan lore and storytelling.
