Riley was adopted into the Clarington-smythe family when he was around 7. His biological parents were unfit to care for him and his siblings, it wasnât a house any child should grow up in. He was the oldest of his siblings, so he usually took the brunt of his fatherâs temper in order to protect his younger siblings. His mother wasnât really physical toward any of them, just more so incredibly neglectful.
He was split up from his siblings not long after they were taken from their home, most people were more eager to adopt the younger ones than they were him. He lived in a group home until he was adopted by Sebastian and Hunter.
He didnât really speak at all when he first moved in, was very detached and distant. He had a hard time warming up to them, especially as he didnât really trust father figures. He gradually warmed to them as he stayed longer, realising they had nothing but love in their hearts for him. Thereâs still a tiniest part of him that doubts their love but he knows thatâs just based off of his past, and nothing to do with them.
Thatâs just a little about his back story tbh I imagine Iâll write more in a proper bio but this is just for intro stuff
Okay so he will never talk about his childhood before Sebastian and hunter. He doesnât talk about his siblings, his biological parents, not anything. The only people he has talked to have been his dads.
Heâs a bit distant sometimes, but he tries to be present and tries to open himself up to people. Though heâs worked through a lot of his stuff through therapy, heâs still a bit of a runner. Runs from emotions and relationships.
Heâs a nice kid, a little bit of a reckless one. He likes to party, stays out late, doesnât come home until the early hours of the morning. He sneaks out a lot. Sometimes he just likes to wander on his own, listening to music and enjoying the night.
He looks like the unapproachable type who would fight anyone, but he would literally never lay a hand on anyone. He doesnât do violence, even if someone is really getting under his skin.
Heâs a musician. He writes music and plays guitar. Heâd have to really be down with you to show any of his songs tho.
Boy literally skateboard everywhere he goes. He has a car, he just barely uses it because he likes to just disappear on his skateboard for long afternoons. He has broken more decks than he can count.
Collects old consoles like itâs nobodyâs business. He doesnât really care about playing any new games, heâll just rock with Super Mario 64. Also 100% digs old arcade games. If your his friend, he has definitely dragged you to an arcade so he can go on the Pac-Man machine, asteroids or space invaders.
He is honestly very soft tbh.
Wanted connections
Best friends- just pals he can hang with and spend early Sunday mornings just exploring stuff with. Ones heâs super close with and trusts with his soul.
Past hookups- fleeting moments of romance. People at parties or just stupid makeouts under the bleachers. Could be one night things, or friends with benefits. Anything goes really.
An ex or two- just people he dated but couldnât handle the commitment. So probably broke up with them very abruptly and without a lot of explanation, even if he did like them a lot.
