Peddlerâs Game - Aug22
Played: Twice Lost: 1000g Won: NOTHING
Georgia whined, looking at the peddler. Really? That wasnât fair! The game had to be rigged!
She glanced to the side and...sure enough, someone had won the rings. Scrunching her nose, Georgia huffed and headed out. Well, she could have fun anyway! A nice night of fun and dancing.

Henry smiled as Georgia spoke, resting his elbow on his knee and positioning himself so he could lean on his hand, fingers curled inwards to a fist.
âNow Darlinâ Iâm sure youâd do just fine. Youâre pretty good at rememberinâ, and hell, even if you do mess up itâll make the kids laugh! Plus itâll get easier especially if one of the little sweethearts accidentally calls you Mom. They get so flustered. Itâs the cutest~â Henry would often get called âMomâ or âDadâ by the children every so often. He usually took it as a sign he was doing a good job.
I hope so too.â Henry sighed a little as well, âI know more than anyone how lonely it can be.â He looked wistfully out the window nearby. âIâm just glad a lot more of us became more accepting as we all grew up. Lord knows I became a teacher so that the kids would have an easier time accepting others and being accepted.â Life was hard when you were Queer, off the gender spectrum, and albino. Overall, Henry was so glad he had enough money to keep up with his appearance. Striking red eyes tended to scare the kids. Not to mention his poor eyesight..
âHm?â He looked back at Georgia. âAh, well, Nothinâ too special. Itâs gonna be the weekend soon, yeah? Iâm gonna be gradinâ papers. Might see if the kiddies are up to a quick spelling bee for prizes.â
Georgia smiled, shaking her head with a little laugh. âThat is definitely adorable. I dunno if Iâd wanna be a Mama just yet, but those slip ups are always funny. Just laugh and keep goinâ, right?âÂ
She leaned back, clasping her hands behind her back, rocking on her heels. âIt can be, but I think ya do a great job,â she commented with a faint smile. âTryinâ so hard with them, thereâs a lot of effort there. It really is amazinâ and...the effort isnât wasted. Hope ya know that.â She smiled sweetly, tilting her head to the side. âDefinitely gonna be a lastinâ impression on the lil ones.â
âSpelling? Ah...maybe. That cold be fun. Foodâs always a good motivator. How I got through my school.â She grinned. âA few treats when you got done a certain amount of homework. Positive reinforcement, right?â she laughed. âHave you taken them for field trips yet? Down to the ocean together?â
Locust :)
Locust: What was your favorite book as a child?
Georgia laughed nervously, rubbing the back of her neck. A pink came over her cheeks, spreading quickly to the rest of her face.Â
âBook? Well, I didnât read much as a kid, and...it kinda followed me through to now. I ainât a huge fan of books. Canât concentrate on them.â

âThatâs nice!â Penny replied, smiling. She hadnât really considered getting a pet but the idea wasnât a bad one. Still, she wouldnât want Abi to have to take care of her pet for her as with her research, sheâs might not have time to care for it.
âIâll definitely have to consider that.â She told Georgia, nodding knowingly. She sipped at her coffee before speaking again. âAre there other areas of the facility you were wanting to see?â She asked.
âIt really is,â Georgia agreed with a warm smile. âIf youâd consider it Iâd appreciate it, yâknow.â She gave her a knowing wink. âHonestly, a companion really can help. Arenât there studies or somethinâ that show just how good they are? Consider a small pet for the office? You could put the cage along a long filing cabinet. All pets need space, but it might not be so bad...or a small cat! That could work.â She listed off suggestions fairly quickly, her eyes lighting up.
âOther areas?â She tapped her finger on her cheek, thinking. âPossibly, but I wouldnât wanna do it all in one trip. It would make things go by faster, I think. Too fast. Iâd rather leave some things unexplored so I always have somethinâ to come back to.â She looked around. âAh-Iâm sorry. Should I leave you to your work?â

âNah nah, been keeping on top of drinkin water ân stuff. Years of throwing bales aâ hay tends to get you used to it.â He rolled his shoulders, trying to shake off the stiffness. While he was used to doing it daily, it still did take a bit of a toll on him.Â
âAaaah. Been looking to hang out with animals more? Youâre free to come over for that yâknow.â He laughed, âTreat those cows better than I treat myself.âÂ
Mark gestured for her to come with him, âJust hop the fence.âÂ
âEven if youâre used to it, it still doesnât make it easy,â she commented, rocking back and fort on her heels. âItâs alright to take it slow some days. Especially on hot days. Nobodyâs here to judge ya. Just the animals,â she teased with a small laugh.
She nodded, rubbing the back of her neck with a bit of an embarrassed smile. âI always like to ask! Just in case youâre busy or donât want company. They always look happy, so itâs nice to pet them.â
She waited for Mark to give the go ahead before she hoisted herself up on the fence, then dropped on the other side.Â
âPoor lil things are probably overheated just like us,â she commented.
@downtofarm
Georgia hummed, checking her watch briefly before she bounced down the trail to the Wright Farm. She had a few things to hand off to him, and she could use her work time to catch up.Â
âPete!!â she called loudly, the basket on her arm slipping when she brought her cupped hands to her mouth in an attempt to amplify her already loud voice. âWhere are ya! I have a delivery!âÂ
She waited for a total of four and a half seconds (give or take. She counted quickly) before she went to check in one of the coops. She crouched, greeting one of the chickens with a warm smile. âHello, wonderful~ Ainât you the cutest lil thing,â she cooed. âI guess your papa ainât keepinâ a good eye on you, huh?â

The teacher was about to place his apron on his desk but then hesitated. âThanks so much!â He hummed for a moment, debating on what to do before putting the apron back on and walking over to Georgia so he could take the gift box from her. âWe were having an art lesson. Gotta make sure these kids grow up with all the imagination they need for the future. Yâknow?â
Henryâs eyes seemed to shine as he spoke about the kids, he really loved all of the little monsters and had such bright hopes for them.
âWellâŚâ Henry spoke as he walked back over to his desk to place the box of fruit and eggs down. âYou eventually learn all their names after the first week or so, then you recognize all their cute little faces.â He made sure the box was in a safe place before turning and sitting upon the desk much like Georgia was. âHonestly Iâm kinda glad Wellspring is gettinâ more kids. We used to have a lot less runninâ around. Do you remember?â
âThat sounds like they had fun. You always have your kids bringinâ out cute art.â She smiled. âAnd I never hear anything negative, so...must be doinâ something right.â She handed the box to him. âImagination is great. I think theyâll be great. Need imagination when ya live here.â
Georgia tilted her head to the side, thinking back and then nodded. âThereâs so many at once, Iâd be scared to mess it up. Probably helps to have the name tags too.â She tapped her knee, biting the inside of her cheek. âI think itâll be great in a few years when theyâre older. It might bring even more in.â She smiled. âIt was lonely growinâ up,â she admitted. âI mean...small. Itâs good thereâs more and more. A slow growth is still growth.â
She leaned back, glancing out the window before she gave Henry another smile. âI really hope they grow up well and stay around here. I know a few people waited until they could to leave, but I hope they learn to love it here as much as we do.â She let out a small sigh, shaking her head. âWhat are the plans for tomorrow? Anythinâ interesting?â
smilelikesunshine:
âWasnât aware you weighed seventy pounds.â He chuckled, going ahead to clip the string on the feed, âDidnât have many plans. Mostly just working and then probâly just trying to get cool. Too damn hot if you ask me.âÂ
He hummed, cutting the string with a pocket knife before turning back to Georgia, âPlanning on asking me to hang out?âÂ
Mark gave her a dimpled smile, coming back to the fence. The cows were going to be good for the rest of the day, spending most of the time in the shade or the pond. It wasnât particularly active.Â
Georgia laughed a little, rubbing the back of her neck. âWell, maybe a lil bit more than seventy. Still, itâs a lot. Dunno how ya do it all the time. Make sure the heat doesnât hit you too bad. Take some water breaks in the shade. Wouldnât want to find ya days later passed out.â She kept her voice light, but the concern was still clear.Â
âLess hang out and more shadow,â she admitted with a sheepish grin. âI just wanted to check out the animals. See how things were goinâ. Make sure you werenât pushing yourself too hard.â Her cheeks flushed pink. âI mean, if it ainât too strange. Or if youâre too busy Iâll see myself out and bother some other farmer with animals to pet.â
