Asked for it
He scoffed, glancing around for a rushed idea to be embarrassed of. âI dunno. Me? The trees? Those are living breathing things, never know what might be watching you.â Rhombus pointed at one of the said trees around. âIâm watching you, tree! I know what you did.â
The pet names are a habit. A good habit, but one nonetheless. Jay is patted on the back as the big nerd glares at a tree for no reason. Fuck you, tree.
When being looked over thereâs quiet whining at the broken kiss and being fawned over, it isnât that awesome. âNah, I just found somethinâ that isnât too flashy and looked like something you might wear. Iâm glad ya like it so much, hun.â Honestly heâs acting like an impatient toddler.
Finally, the house is excitingly rushed into after his boyfriend is in. âYeaaaaah. Iâve been pretty slow with repairs. Shoulda done this sooner.â Nothing is in this house, the wood floors are done, walls are painted some cream color. The only furniture is an uncomfortable looking couch in the living room. Thereâs three bedrooms, two bathrooms an upstairs and a large kitchen.
Jay had only chuckled at the tree comment. He thinks youâre a dork, Rhombus, and he always will. And the pet names, regardless, are fucking adorable no matter how silly they may sound and how awful they may be.
âNooo, holy shit. This looks fuckinâ great, Rhomby!â He spoke, eyes widened as he looked back at the taller man. âHowâd ya do this? Donât sell yerself short, love.â Jayâs eyes scanned the place, noting the repairs and smiling. Rhombus worked so hard for this. He wouldnât be surprised if the taller man had bandages all over his hands and whatnot. What a sweetheart.
Jay had looked over the home, ooos and aaahs escaping him, until he came back to the living room with the sofa. âNâ You did this all for me? Aw, ya really shouldnât have. I missed ya, nerd. I didnât know you were workinâ on this for so long. Thank ya.â
They both know Rhombus is a huge dork, and honestly Jay is a cutie. Those pet names are well deserved for a man so adorable.
"Thanks, but I'm no carpenter." He's being bashful, looking around at his work. "All I did was rewire most of it, replace some windows and give it a fresh coat a' paint." Nothing he did required a hammer or knife, no bandages would be needed if anything went wrong. Although he did accidentally brake a window or two, sliced himself a bit, nothing serious though.
The short guy is followed around by a happy and proud man, who is there to discredit himself at any time. "I did, and I needed you. An apartment isn't a great place ta live, baby. Just thought you'd like a place a' yer own. I missed you too and of course you didn't know, wouldn't be a surprise if you did. All that's left is the roof and tiles." Jay can help with that if he wants to.
