Which one sneaks candy from the kids’ trick-or-treat haul after bedtime? Both. They need the energy to keep up with the kids. The kids on the other hand, do not need more energy.

Which one invents silly “monster yoga” moves to get the wiggles out before bed? Ria. Tad just wants to do, actual yoga, but the kids aren't on board. Ria feels bad and comes up with a way to get everyone on board. Tad wants to marry her a second time.

Which one insists on a family costume theme, even for the family pet? Both. They're a family, why wouldn't they match? It doesn't even matter if it's a holiday or not.

Which one insist on taking the kids to the pumpkin patch? Both. They are making all the holiday memories and there will be no ifs ands or buts.

Which one wants the kids to wear glow-in-the-dark accessories for safety while out? Neither, they're not helicopter parents. But they do keep an eye on them.

It felt so strange to be all dressed up. Heck it felt strange just to be showered. The last two years had been like stepping from one nightmare to the next, and now suddenly, it was like she'd woken up to a whole new, but familiar, world. All that mattered was that Ashton was here, and everything else was a bonus.

Ria chuckled and offered her arm like a gentleman she felt right now and grinned. They could dance, they could go for a walk - whichever worked best. She didn't keep track of how tired other's feet were, since her own energy level was a mystery. They had spent hours facetiming even though they only talked when Amelia called Ash or vice versa, and Ria wished her Dad could join them, like the old times- sometimes he was the fourth person joining their conversations, god bless the technology.

"Sure, sweatpants and t-shirts sound more comfortable, but there's literally no one and nothing to stop us from wearing Prada dresses and sneakers when we're going for lunch."

she hasn't had an excuse to dress up in ages, to pull back her hair and unpack what little make-up remains in her apartment. it feels nice to have such a special occasion, celebrating one of her closest friends after all this time. she's happy if aggie is happy, even if it comes at the expense of losing her roommate. it has been a challenge to pull their lives apart, but she knows it's for the best.

the pale blue of her dress shimmers as she smoothed a feigned wrinkle, watching the crowd ebb and flow with the next events of the evening. she's left with her bouquet and a moment of downtime, though she doesn't pretend to want it to last.

"what'd you think!" she's not sure which detail she's referring to, carried along by the flush of her cheeks and the little bit of champagne she'd had before the ceremony. "did i look alright up there?"

Ria was so quick to reply, as if she knew what Ruth was going to say, but she loved her look and the decorations. She loved how full of joy everyone was and she was so happy for the newly-weds. They had gone through a lot and they all deserved a little bit of happiness in their lives, but Ria could tell that it was a lot of happiness for Eric and Aggie, and she was happy that she, Ruth, Oscar, and Zach could be there with them.

"I don't know how that's even possible, but this world still amazes me with how normal it can be sometimes." She sighed, all dreamy and smiling as she added, "And I just remembered my own wedding..."
