"Alright," Rhett slowly retracted his hand, shoving it back into his pocket. Running an idle hand through his hair, he sauntered down the aisle until reaching the counter where Medea was standing. "Got anything interesting for me?" He asked, leaning against the wall.

Clever boy, Artemis thought to herself as she ID’ed who it was that asked her the question. Rhett Pemberton, in her year, and another Gryffindor who defied house stereotypes — not that she gave into them. What was she to say? Not that she’d give him the answer that she just wanted candy and was willing to be patient for it, no, Artemis liked to talk in riddles, play games, and see if the people around her could keep up. Flowery language was her specialty, and she intended to use it. “Even if hope breeds eternal misery, patience is a virtue, and one that I’ve used while waiting in line. Why not be in line?” 

Rhett did not step out his dorm to endure this level of pretentiousness. Oh, how the Gryffindor  wished he'd used the needle in the bathroom. It was moments like these where he'd often question whether entertaining such conversations was worth it at all. Of course, such moments were only questions when tolerance was significantly low and prefects were surrounding. "Hope breeds all kinds of animals. What good is applied virtue, when the Rat will reach the shore first?" Rhett took another puff of his cigarette, allowing himself a moment to indulge in the smoke travelling down his throat. He took a step to the side of Artemis, and leaned forward to lowly whisper by her ear. "There's a backdoor."

A thick cloud of acrid grey smoke breezed through Rhett's lips, the cigarette resting between his lips. Shielded by the black lens of his Ray Bans, he was able to take a quick scan of the Carrow girl standing before him. The corners of his lips ever so lightly curled upwards as he spoke, "Then, why are you still in line?"
