Astarion  steps  over  the  wreckage  of  what  used  to  be  a  Zhentarim  agent,  not  bothering  to  hide  the  amusement  on  his  face.  He  gives  the  corpse  a  quick  glance,  then  claps  his  hands  together–slow  and  deliberate. 

“Elegant.  Brutal.  Filthy.”  He  says  it  like  he’s  praising  her, a slow clap with his hands follows.  His  eyes  find  hers  as  he  catches  the  tossed  potion  without  looking,  fingers  curling  around  the  glass  bulb  with  the  kind  of  casual  precision  he  wants  her  to  notice.  He  doesn’t  break  eye  contact.  “Just  how  I  like  my  companions.”  The  smirk  that  follows  is  practiced,  but  not  hollow.

His  gaze  flits  to  the  mud  streaking  her  clothes,  then  to  the  blood  drying  on  her  hands.  His  nose  wrinkles,  not  from  disgust,  but  from  a  familiar  memory. 

“Don’t  be  silly,  darling.  You  and  I  have  both  been  in  worse  spots  than  this.  Though  I  do  draw  the  line  at  willingly  rolling  around  in  the  muck.  Even  for  survival.”

He  takes  a  step  closer,  eyes  scanning  her  in  full.  She’s  focused  and  efficient.  He’s  standing  tall  and  clean,  doing  nothing  to  help  yet. 

“Still…”  he  breathes  in,  lips  parting  slightly  as  he  catches  the  metallic  scent  in  the  air.  “If  this  is  your  idea  of  foreplay,  you  could’ve  just  said  so.” 

The  grin  he  gives  her  is  shameless…sharp.
