People used to say Monaco glowed, that it had a pulse, that it was the kind of place where stories were born. But time has a way of warping beautiful things, and now the town feels like a photograph left too long in the sun. Residents still call Monaco beautiful, still call it home, but everyone agrees the town is changing, and whatever is waking beneath it has been waiting a very long time.
