Wild animals would usually charge headlong into battle, going off their basest desires. Hunger, rage, survival. If this one wouldn’t, perhaps with was one of Aizen’s toys. In that case, he’d need to keep an eye on another form. Cero, bala, sonido– Arrancar techniques flashed through his mind. For now, Bazz-B had the advantage.

Heilig Bogen springs to life in his hand, forming faster than usual thanks to Hueco Mundo’s unusually dense reishi. Taking the form of a crossbow, he’s quick to let lose a volley Heilig Pfeil, reishi bolts shooting out with extreme speed. Even without the benefit of Blue Arterie, he knows they’re more than enough to put down someone as strong as a Shinigami Lieutenant.

But Aizen’s Arrancar weren’t that weak, were they? In droves they’d fought toe-to-toe with the Gotei 13, and there had been some among their numbers that surpassed even the Captains. Yhwach had seen to the new Queen. Were there any left?

With how fast the weapon forms in this guy’s hand, Grimmjow barely has a chance for surprise to cross his face before he’s launching into sonido to dodge those projectiles. Good damn thing he’d been prepared, but it’s still a narrow miss—not good. And how did that thing just appear? Vague memories of Aizen’s invasion briefing itched at his mind, something about one of the non-shinigami using a bow of reishi…? He’d bet it’s the same concept, now he just had to figure out how it worked. Paying attention sure earns its dues.

Honestly he’s so bewildered by the weird ass phrase and Nnoitra asking for help that he just stares.

Fucking hell Grimm-- i’m rereading TYBW arc again for the first time in a Long While and i forgot how BRUTAL Grimm was with Quilge

Every time this guy said something it put him more on edge. Even the slip ups that revealed more and more of his character, his capability, they all flashed warning lights. Was it intuition honed over the years, was it just that had suddenly taken a shine to being overly-cautious, or was it as simple as indigestion?

The final straw was the knowledge of where the Jagdarmee were. If this guy was nothing, they’d have put him down. If he was dangerous, and he knew where they were, a lot of Soldat would die. That’d be a problem for the future invasion, though maybe he could deal with Opie. Rolling his shoulders, perhaps it was time to find out.

“Only thing I’m in charge of at the moment is sticking you in the ground, dog.” Hollows were typically close-ranged fights, so he pumped up his Blut Vene, one foot sliding backwards, ready to dash. “You hoping for an open or closed-casket?”

That's probably a no then, how fortunate. Just this one was better odds.

"Good, maybe they won’t interrupt.” His posture is just as loose as when he’d appeared, his weight balanced effortlessly on the balls of his feet and ready to move any way at a moment’s notice. Let mohawk make his assumptions, Grimmjow wanted to see his hand first. There was no video footage to give him an idea of anything he could expect, no past experience, nothing. Mohawk could come to him, in fact, why not see if he could stall him to impatience or piss him off...

Interesting. So jawbone didn’t know of the Quincy, and that’s why he was playing it cool? Didn’t seem to like mention of Hueco Mundo’s previous pimp, but that didn’t narrow down what breed this guy was. Could be wild and resentful, could be bred and disloyal. But he was proud.

That was something Bazz-B could take note of.

“Yeah?” Eyes fixed on the Arrancar at all times, arms swept across the remains of the Hollows he’d been putting down. “You’re late.” Not to mention all the Jagdarmee had already accomplished. They’d missed this guy. Or he’d avoided them. Both options were equally thrilling.

“I’m Bazz-B, bitch. Judge, jury and executioner.”

This was a cleansing of some kind, just not by the shinigami apparently. The dead hollows around didn’t phase Grimmjow, they weren’t even worth a glance. What troubled him was the Queen had clearly gone to face this bunch, and they were still around. If she was defeated or driven off….this could go south for him pretty quick if he drew the wrong straw.

“I make my own appointments.” He inclined his head slightly toward the general direction of the closest cluster of intruders’ presences in the distance, in favor of taking his eyes off mohawk. “You in charge of this crusade, Bazz-Bitch?”

His line had caught a few fish, but nothing that’d count as a meal. As the most recent mask shattered under boot, he’d made peace with another disappointment of a trip. Then the reiatsu hit, barely a tingle. Weak to be sure, but the taunt was closer. Eyes locked onto the source, narrowing as he sized the hollow up, mind grasping at the classifications of Hollow. Obviously not a regular Hollow, and even this pitiful degree of reiatsu had to be above a Menos– well, the big dumb ones. Gillians?

The Quincy turned to fully face the other. No, something didn’t add up. This guy had rocked up out of nowhere, gotten real close without Bazz-B calling it. The sword and the humanoid figure meant he was an Arrancar, obviously. But he was too human for the power level Bazz-B was reading.

“Funny, I was thinking how quiet you are.”

What’d he know for certain: Sneaky over here had sought him out, but hadn’t engaged. Sizing up his opponent, or just curious? No, Hollows only knew their hunger. So he’s looking for a meal, but Bazz-B has him pegged for power. Is this one just an idiot? Didn’t add up, would have just attacked in that case.

“You a wild animal, or one of Aizen’s old pets?”

The smartass remark back earned the guy a snort, but that was about it while they each tried to figure the other out. Grimmjow didn’t like not knowing what to expect when they started throwing down—granted there was always a degree of that in battle, but this flashy shit wasn’t a shinigami or any kind of hollow. Or even that weird mix like Kurosaki and his blonde friend. And whatever mohawk was, it was pretty damn strong, and he wasn’t even going yet. The arrancar was self-assured in the decision to play this careful for now…

There might have been a smidge of respect before that last bit had a sneer darkening his face.
