Hello!! I am so sorry for just responding to this. I am the worst with procrastination, so Iâm trying to get through my requests. I love this ship! This did stray from the original plot just a little, and I hope thatâs okay. Please enjoy :)Â
Fandom: The Lost Boys
Pairing: David x Michael
I tried to make them both oblivious to each otherâs feelings, but I feel as though David is seen yearning for Michael a bit more.Â

Michaelâs House 1987 11:39 p.m.
Michael couldnât sleep. And sure, maybe he couldâve chalked it up to the humidity consuming his room despite the window having been closed all day. He couldâve.
If it wasnât for a certain blondeâs face plaguing his mind every time he closed his eyes.Â
Ever since his meeting with the rambunctious group of bikers, their leader, David, hadnât left his mind. He hated to admit that his red face wasnât just from the mysterious wine that had been shoved into his hands, but instead from Davidâs burning gaze. His heartâs tempo would speed up at the thought of him - something he would take to his grave.Â
Michael tossed and turned, flipped and fluffed his pillow, yet he still couldnât seem to relax. He collapsed onto his back with a frustrated huff, staring blankly at the ceiling. After having calmed down, he felt a pull in his chest, like he was longing for something. His mind started to get foggy, and thought maybe a night ride would help clear his mind. He sat up, slipping on a shirt and loose shorts, before creeping down the stairs, making sure not to wake anyone else up.
He walked out of the house, closing the door as quietly as he could. Walking the dirtbike away from the house, he started it up, taking off into the night.
Lost Boyâs Cave 1987 11:50 p.m.
The cave glowed from the many candles lit, echoes of the boysâ wild voices bleeding out into the ocean. Music blasted from the cassette player stolen off of their latest victims, the four celebrating a successful hunt.
Paul and Marko danced around the cave, high from whatever weed the first had scored that day. Dwayne was slouched against one of the ratted and decrepit couches, eye closed and stomach full. David was lounging next to Dwayne, his leg bouncing as his arms laid crossed over his chest.Â
Sensing something wrong with their leader, Dwayne opened an eye and turned his head to David. âPenny for your thoughts?â he asked, his deep, monotone voice barely audible over the othersâ laughter and music.
David looked over at Dwayne, shrugging dismissively. âGot none to share.â he responds. Dwayne hums, turning his head back and closing his eyes. âWhereâs Star?âÂ
The blonde lazily pointed behind him. âSleeping. Said she didnât feel good. Sheâs probably disappointed that Michael wasnât out tonight.â His tone remained level, but there was the slightest hint of edge. Jealousy perhaps? Threatened by possible competition? Thoughts like that hadnât crossed his mind. But they had crossed Dwayneâs.
Dwayne hums again, trying not to smirk at Davidâs tone. Suddenly, the loud hum of a bikeâs engine could be heard by the entrance, all vampires now alert. Just as Dwayne was about to stand, an arm collided with his chest, and he looked over to see Michaelâs stern expression. He shook his head.
David sniffed the air, a wave of recognition washing over him. Suddenly, a figure wandered in from the caveâs opening, four sets of eyes tracking the intruder. Davidâs eyes widen when the person comes into the light. Standing in front of him was Michael.
Before he could say anything, Paul and Marko sauntered up to him. âMichael! What brings you here at this time oâ night? Miss us already?â Paul says joyously, clapping a hand over his shoulder.
âWanna blaze? Just got some good stuff tonight.â Marko follows up with, offering Michael a new blunt. He looks between the two, politely shrugging them off. He looks up when he sees David stalking towards him.
âHello, Michael.â David greets, his arrogant mask slipping on. Michael nods, âDavid.â
The two stand in front of each other, not saying a word. The three other vampires looked over at each other with confused looks, before looking back at the two.Â
âCome to see Star?â David sneers, crossing his arms. âYour little girlfriendâs already asleep.â He said, trying to read the maleâs expression.
Davidâs obvious jealousy towards Star didnât go unnoticed by his brothers, but somehow completely flew over Michaelâs head. Actually, Michael didnât know why he was here. Up until his arrival to the cave, his mind had been blank.
âHave a drink with us.â Came Dwayneâs voice from behind Michael, holding up a six pack. Michael nodded, thankful for the distraction.Â
~~~
The guys were circled around the center of the cave, silence consuming them. Suddenly, Paul spoke up. âHey, whoâs everyoneâs celebrity crush?â
All eyes turned to him, and Marki punched his shoulder. âThe fuck do you think this is, a slumber party?â he asks, taking a swig of his beer.
Paul shrugged. âEveryoneâs so goddamn tense. Well, I should say, Michael and David are tense. Probably because they both dig Star.â he says, not at all keeping his voice down.
A can flew from across the space, hitting him square on the forehead. The stoner cries out in pain, rubbing the now reddened spot as Marko bursts out into a fit of laughter.Â
âHow fucking immature are you?â David asks, wishing he had another can to throw Paulâs way. Michael looks over at David, not all that surprised at his actions. Where did Paul get such an idea from? Although very beautiful, he didnât âdigâ Star, and as far as he knew, he didnât think heâd done anything to warrant such accusations.
âI donât like Star.â he started, gaining David and Dwayneâs attention. âI mean, donât get me wrong, sheâs gorgeous, but sheâs not really my type.âÂ
âWho is your type then?â Dwayne asks, narrowing his eyes at Michael.
âI donât really know. I mean, I guess Iâve always preferred blondes, but Iâve never dated anyone.â He admits, his face flushed from the confession. Marko let out a laugh, before gasping loudly and smacking a hand over his forehead. He dramatically falls into Paulâs arms.
âOh woe is me! Iâve never dated! Iâm a sad virgin!â Marko exclaims in an uncharacteristically high pitched voice. He then looks up at Paul, running his fingers through his hair. âMy, My, what beautiful locks you have!â He continues, blinking up at the vampire.Â
Paul laughs, pushing him off. Michael rolls his eyes, and David glares at them.
âAre you done?â Michael looks at the two unamused. âAnd just because I havenât dated doesnât mean Iâm a sad virgin.â He says, trying to defend himself. Davidâs gaze remains forward, his heart squeezing at the words.
The rest of the night went by in a blur, and just as Michael was getting ready to leave, David stopped him.
âYou shouldnât ride home this late. Especially after a beer.â
Michael turned around, furrowing his brows. âWhat?â
David stayed silent for a moment. âIâm just saying, itâs probably not a good idea.â
âSo, what? Are you going to let me crash here? If Iâm not there by sunrise, my momâs going to have a heart attack.â
The blonde vampire sighed. Letting him stay in the cave meant a death sentence for the four of them. âIâll take you home.â
Michael shook his head. âItâs fine. Iâm good to head home on my own.â He took the courage to gather his next words. âBut I guess a riding partner would make it less lonely.â
Davidâs ear perked up at the words, and he got his own bike started up. Michael led David to his house, quickly shutting off the vehicles to prevent the family from waking up. Michael gave him an awkward wave, before disappearing into the home.
Just as Michael had settled into bed, a faint knocking coming fromâŚhis window? Thinking it was just his imagination, he goes to lay down, when thereâs another knock.Â
He kicks off his covers, walking over to the window and opening it. He stumbles back when Davidâs face comes into view. He sits on the windowsill, observing his room.
âWhat-â David zeroes in on Michael. The brunette walks towards him.
âWhat are you doing here? And how did you get up to the second story window?âÂ
David smirks. âIâm a great athlete.â Before Michael can respond, David lunges for him. Michael squeezes his eyes shut when he feels a pair of lips press against his own.Â
As quickly as they were there, the warmth disappeared, and so did David.
Michael rushed to the window, looking around for any sign of the blonde man. The only sign that he was there was the distant roar of a bike, fading quickly.
He stood back, his heart drumming in his ears. He closed his window, walking back to bed in a daze. Despite his mind going a mile a minute with questions that would remain unanswered until the next night, he was finally able to sleep.
