A proud but tiny chuckle came with her comment. The only him around. He liked the sound of that coming from her. There are some others that could say that and mean wrong about it.    illuminated eyes flashed between her and the tent when she looked at it. A little hum coming from him before he softly mentioned, âIs temporaryâŚâ Heâs watching from the corner of his eye so when she looked back to him he glanced to her. The serious expression made it hard for him to keep his gaze but he tried his hardest. As the question was given in form of what he assumed was an offer, he made quick glance around as though someone was listening. Because it was to good to be true and the nature of being mutant and living on the streets wasnât as simple as a lot would think. Theres a share of them but none that flock together and it certainly makes you the odd man out even in this limited environment. Heâs muttering low to himself before he can manage words for her, âI-IâŚIâd say yes, miss.â
The way he glanced around was familiar, the mild fear that came with the chance of drawing unwanted attention all too common to her. It only served to confirm her suspicions, along with the unusual flicker of light that came with the shift of his gaze.
His answer brought a wider smile to her lips, her hands coming out to wrap around one of his in her excitement, less concerned about the oddity of her touch now. âIâm very happy to hear that, Iâm aâŚvery good judge of characterâŚusually, and I didnât want to be wrong,â she leaned in lightly, voice low and inviting. She really was a good judge of character, if a bit too soft sometimes, and she had a keen eye for finding their kind. He seemed so goodâŚlike a scruffy stray just waiting for the right person to come along, and it had nothing to do with his housing situation.Â
Giving his hand a gentle squeeze, she stood up and tugged carefully to bring him up along with her, âCâmon then. Weâll talk more in private, yeah?â
This was for real? Heâs being taken this moment to this- this school? Sheâs taken his hand and pulling him up, and thats when the reality of it really sets in. He is sort of scrambling to his feet and shooting a glance back to the tent again, âY,yeah?â   For a second heâs about to start walking away with her but he remembers his bike. Its a lot to register in one go and he missed the one thing of value he owns. Cable carefully pulls hand away to gather his few loose items into the saddle bags on the bike. Flashy eyes looked over to her with hesitant questioning as he kicked up the stand and pushed it forward with them, âThis is ok, yeah?â He had a place to hide it if needed, but heâd rather take it with him. He looks at her groceries with a nod, âI can carry thaâ on mâ bike if ya like?âÂ
