Retro Game Snobbery and forward thinking

Perfectionism is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life, and it is the main obstacle between you and a shitty first draft. I think perfectionism is based on the obsessive belief that if you run carefully enough, hitting each stepping-stone just right, you won’t have to die. The truth is that you will die anyway and that a lot of people who aren’t even looking at their feet are going to do a whole lot better than you, and have a lot more fun while they’re doing it.

This makes me so happy, and yet so sad.

No, seriously, listen to this guy: “You want kids to come into class, you want ‘em to be excited for this? You gotta come in here and make ‘em excited. You want a kid to change and start doing better, you gotta touch his freakin’ heart. And when you come in here like you did last time and you make a statement about ‘this is my paycheck,’ indeed it is. But this is my country’s future and my education.”

I feel this kid from the bottom of my soul. I myself have had similar (not as profound) arguments with teachers and the teachers won’t listen, even if you get them one on one. What’s worse is that your fellow classmates don’t recognise you’re fighting for them; championing for them. Instead they’ll giggle either with you or against you, never backing you up on what you say. And when you confront people on this cause you know they feel the same way deep inside, they’ll lie and say it’s not a big deal in the end, or admit that in the end, they just want to get passing grades and leave school.

Why am I laughing these puns are terrible…
