Sig winces, pained body stinging as he was picked up. Yet, he breathes a sigh of relief as heâs released from the bricks that were once crushing his bones, a weak smile coming onto his face for a moment as if thanking the older for saving him. It would soon fade as the pain took a fierce grip on him again as he was cradled. The bloodied fingers of his demonic arm grab onto Yatoâs scarf, tears streaming down his face as he tries not to let out a groan. He needed something physical to hold onto nowâŚ
At the otherâs request to not speak and waste his energy on words, he canât help but shake his head. Speaking is all he can do to help here. Itâs all he knows he can do other than stay conscious. Itâs the only way he thinks he can help himself and Yato in this absolutely horrid situation. Itâs the only way he thinks he can save himself.
He nods weakly at the question, hand letting go of the scarf as he uses it to point. Even his absent and now clouded ride knows a bumpy ride awaited him but he also knows it wonât last long. He just needed to hold on until they got there, even if just jumping up to a rooftop made him want to cough up heaven knows what. He knows the pain wonât last long once they got to his home⌠He knows whose waiting for him to come back.
He can only hope they forgive him for coming home like this.
He can hope Yato forgives him for this.
Head shakes again as the God states he did nothing wrong. He feels he mustâve done something to warrant this, but he cannot recall what he couldâve done to be given such punishment. Heâs not upset that he ended up like this, but rather upset that he mustâve done something horrible to end up like thisâŚ
No part of him would blame Yato for this.
âIt⌠OkayâŚÂ âm⌠Sorry for⌠Doing bad⌠To get thisâŚâ
Thereâs pauses between words, shallow breathing following. He canât seem to be able to think out coherent sentences right now⌠Eyes have closed as he continues to point Yato towards home.
He doesnât need to see where heâs going anymore. Itâs not hard to miss a house thatâs away from others, slightly worn down with all windows open and vines growing along the walls. Itâs surrounded by trees and is the perfect place for a bug lover to live⌠If one of its residents wasnât nearing death in the arms of a God.
There isnât enough damn time in the world for this. Not for this. As fast as the God is, the clock he races against is the clock of death. A cruel mistress, taking what she wants, when she wants. Time is nothing. Yet time is all. Sigâs life hangs in the balance... itâs a scale that he canât see staying steady. Not for long. Not until someone FIXES this.Â
How could this have happened? How could it have come to this? Just a few days ago, Sig and Yato were the best of friends... like family. Brothers. But a bout of stupidity on Yatoâs part... not just one, but two instances... caused CALAMITY to ensue. This was his fault, he ponders.Â
As the boy points ahead, Yato rushes along. The rooftops are quicker. His jumps are high- fast. Perhaps time... perhaps death is on his side this time. He pays no attention to the boy in his arms, lest he falls. Yet... he hears his gentle, failing voice whisper out to him.
His jaw tightens, and his chest heaves. The gears in the Godâs head twist and turn as the moment passes them by.Â
Yato shudders- shivers, even. He shakes his head.
âShut up, Sig... damn it...â he whispers in reply. Heâs fighting the tears that punch his eyes like a boxing glove. But if he cries now... he wonât cause more grief for the boy. Not today.
âYou didnât do a damn thing... you didnât do a damn thing...â Yato finds himself repeating. âJust hang on, buddy... please...â
The God lands himself onto the ground. Thereâs a path... empty. Perhaps this is where heâs supposed to go..? Sig seemed the type to be isolated from the world... this seems the most logical spot. He smiles slightly to himself, as he steps into the sanctuary. Covered by trees... bugs. This must have been heaven for the little boy.
Yato shakes his head. Get a grip, you dumb God.Â
Running forward, he slams open their front door with a shout.
âI NEED HELP! SIG IS DYING, AND I NEED HELP! NOW!â
