âHaha⌠I try to watch over him, I really doâŚâ
Well⌠Gaito had very strong opinions on the matter. Probably best to leave sleeping dogs lie with this one.
ââŚ? It sounds like itâs coming from that way.â
That was Tasukuâs ringtone for sure. He heard it as soon as Gaito dialed his number. ButâŚ
ââŚThatâs strange. Thatâs opposite to the direction I came from.âÂ
And the sound was growing fainter, doomed to be lost to the crowd if they didnât do anything. Tasuku already had a sinking feeling as to what had happened, and could only hope that this wouldnât turn into a nasty confrontation.
âI think someone else has my phone. They mightâve picked it up with intentions to give it back to the owner, but just in case, be on your guard, Gaito-kun.â
And he set off in a brisk pace towards the presumed phone thief.
âIâm sure, as I do the same. But he can take care of himself -- itâs simply easier not to worry if one takes the time to watch over.â
In any case, something seemed... off. Before Tasuku had even brought it up, Gaito tensed -- on guard already, stressed. Unlikely that it would be someone with the intention of returning it -- or perhaps he simply lacked any trust, but Gaito wasnât about to risk himself for something like this. And besides, if someone intended to return a phone to its owner, wouldnât they answer a call to said device?
At least, that was his thought process.
âBe careful yourself, Tasuku-san.â Following after, a little behind, with a furrowed brow -- definitely, he felt a pit in his stomach. This wasnât going to be easy, was it?
âThey could be violent. We donât know what to expect, so donât leave any openings for yourself. Be polite at first, but if they seem to have any objections...â
Balled fists -- he mightâve been a bit harsh, but he didnât want his... friend to get hurt.
