What’s your Jihad?

“As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being re-directed to something better. You must convince your heart that whatever God has decreed is most appropriate and most beneficial for you.”

الإنسان يستطيع أن يزيد من حريته بالعلم، ابو حامد الغزالي: (الإنسان مخير فيما يعلم ومسير فيما لا يعلم ( أي أن كلما اتسع علمه اتسع مجال حريتهHumans can increase their degree of freedom through knowledge. Abu Hamid al-Ghazali says: “Man has choice in what he knows and is choice-less and externally controlled in what he doesn’t know”, which means that whenever his knowledge expands, his freedom increases.

As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I thought I was being rejected from something good; I was actually being redirected to something better. You must convince your heart that whatever Allah has decreed is most appropriate and most beneficial to you.

In God, there is no sorrow or suffering or affliction. If you want to be free of all affliction and suffering, hold fast to God, and turn wholly to Him, and to no one else. Indeed, all your suffering comes from this: that you do not turn towards God.

أنا لا أخشي علي الإنسان الذى يفكّر وإن ضلّ ، لأنه سيعود إلي الحق ، ولكني أخشي علي الإنسان الذى لا يفكّر وإن اهتدى ، لأنه سيكون كالقشة في مهب الريح.I do not fear for the person who thinks, even if he loses his way, for he will return to the truth. Rather, I fear for the person who doesn’t think, even if he is correctly guided, for he will be like a wisp of straw at the mercy of the wind.

Desires make slaves out of kings and patience makes kings out of slaves.

“Declare your jihad on thirteen enemies you cannot see -egoism, arrogance, conceit, selfishness, greed, lust, intolerance, anger, lying, cheating, gossiping and slandering. If you can master and destroy them, then you will be ready to fight the enemy you can see.”
