​The #Fredericremington Art Museum recently received a grant for five sit/stand desks. This equipment was received from the Health Initiative's Creating Healthy Schools and Communities Project, which is funded by the New York State Department of Health. ​ The museum partnered with the Health Initiative to develop Healthy Worksite Action Plans. These largely involved offering healthy food choices in any public or private meetings or events involving refreshments. The new desk adaptions are very welcome​. At least one staff member has been asking for a sit/stand desk for years. "The Health Initiative was a joy to work with, and we probably would have never have made this investment on our own. Laura Foster holds a ​drake bufflehead ​decoy carved and donated by Richard Hollis.  ​The #FredericRemington Art Museum's Harvest Moon will be held in the museum Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 7 to 11 PM.  Music will be provided by Double Axel and Lester Gates, with portraits available by Wendy June Photography. There will be a cash bar by Hosmer's Marina, hors d'oeuvres by Big Spoon Kitchen of Potsdam and a silent auction. The cost is $40 members/$45 non-members. Pre-pay early and receive a $5 discount.

Foster, director of the #FredericRemington Art Museum and ​Dianna Hoch, Plant Admin/Data Steward at the Corning Canton Plant Corning Incorporated Foundation is a 2017 sponsor of the Frederic Remington Art Museum’s annual education fundraiser Classic Golf Tournament which will be held August 25.  The proceeds from the tournament benefit the museum’s education programming at the Eva Caten Remington Education Center (ECREC​.​)​ ​"In changing times, we see #education #programming as an increasingly important service to the community," says Director Laura Foster,  "We are very grateful for Corning Incorporated Foundation's #support."

A team from Epoch Media Group spent two days in the #1000islands - Seaway region. They have been hired by the region, made up of Oswego, Jefferson and St. Lawrence County to capture and communicate the visitor experience here.
