Wow wow and more wows! It’s not the most detailed photo in the world but it’s incredible that I did this all on my own. I took some more OIII photos tonight to add to what I already had from the previous night. It becomes obvious that I have way more data in OIII by how strong that OII signal is compared to the HA signal but I am extremely pleased with this result Canon Rebel T3i

I definitely feel like I am getting better at this every time I go out at night and last night was no exception. Got a brand new OIII filter (very first one at that) and so I decided to aim for the Helix Nebula or NGC 7293. The next 3 nights so far look incredibly clear with no clouds forecasted at all for all nights. I will definitely look to shoot more data in the OIII and on the last night look at seeing how H-Alpha works along side the OIII. Was only able to do 30s subs because the tripod was in the way of correctly positioning the camera and telescope to orientate it with the sky. So anything longer than 30s resulted in major star trailing, but still got some decent data out of it. ❤️ The seven sisters were very kind to get together for a group photo, but wish they would have lined up for me. Took 25 subs at 30 seconds of the Pleiades before it disappeared behind a house. Taken with an I modified DSLR T3i with the CLS-CCD clip in filter with a field flattener and the Z61 on the star guider pro mount. I also used AstroPhotography Tool for image collection and Deep Sky Tracker for stacking. ❤️ Based off my last post I finally used my telescope and camera for an awesome photo of the Orion Nebula. With the Z61 and Canon EOS T3i I was able to get 19 subs at 70s at 800 ISO before it was lost inside a neighbors tree. I used the Astronomik 12nm H-Alpha clip in filter for Canon.
