I wanna hear about the au !!!!
Hi Anon! I like the enthusiasm. XD
I (currently) had four AUs when it comes to Pokemon. But you're probably asking about the one I've mentioned in the previous ask.
This AU is called: "The Plot's Out of Armor; This Is The End". Pretty ominous, right? Well because it is and this story is what it says on the tin.
I currently had only had two illustrations related to it, which were these two that I have already posted:
Just to give a quick summary of that AU, this story spans between the Generation 1 games (the RGBY versions) up to Generation 10 (Winds and Waves) and their timeline follows the release dates of these games, so by the time Winds and Waves comes out in (from what I read is) 2027, Red, Green, and Leaf would be in their 40s once the main event of this story happen.
The main event is something I compare to an apocalypse but without the infected/living dead aspect of it. It's an invasion or ambush from an entity far greater than Arceus because of the existence of the player characters themselves. It's the universe's way to remove unpredictable variables that it can no longer handle. Since players do tend to break games, intentionally or not. And if you put several of them in the same timeline at once, in different parts of the world, the tendency of the world breaking is more possible and the universe did not like that possibility.
The glowing eyes mechanic is one of two ways for these player characters to identify each other. However, with the rivals having that same effect applied to them, the sure fire way of knowing the difference between who were the playable protagonists and the rivals was the existence of dialogue boxes. These characters are able to see their respective boxes and even use it as a way to communicate.
I've been sharing this AU with a friend of mine as they've also been helping me brainstorm, this is how I've been handling the dialogue boxes (Red's the one who uses this the most as the silent protagonist, but everyone else can use it too when passing secret messages). Note: These boxes of dialogue aren't continuous, they're compilations of some snippets I've been sharing with a friend of mine.
Plot wise, from what I'm sure would stick around, is that Red will travel to different regions with some of the protagonists from their respective games. They would be searching for any clues about why they're different from other people and why they can see certain things that others cannot. And Red's doing this under the guise of helping Professor Oak and collecting Pokemon from the different regions as well. If it's not obvious yet, we'll be mostly following Red's POV because it was his story we have started with.
By the time 2027 struck, when the Winds and Waves protagonists had finished their run (depending on what that game's equivalent of an Elite Four or end game is), that is when a giant gate/portal will open up and glitched creatures (think of the Missing no. skeletons in Gen 1) would start to pour out and attacking, only visible once they reached the atmosphere.
The only people who can see this gate were the protagonists themselves, once again invisible to everyone else.
When that part of the story comes it becomes a battle of survival for everyone, meaning even people would have to start fighting, not just their Pokemon. Any manpower counts in that situation, those enemies would not go down easily, especially when they don't know what the weak points are yet. So, we will see these characters with weapons, fighting alongside the team they've built and bonded with.
Few keypoints I'm still debating with:
Inclusion of the characters from the spin-off games (All three Pokemon Rangers, Pokemon Colosseum, and Pokemon XD: Gales of Darkness)
How I would present the ending. This is not a story where things will get better, the title would be useless if it is.
It's still a fresh AU I started like... a month ago. Some things would possibly change and more would be added, too. For now, that's what I could share for this AU. I had three others, and they're a few weeks older than this one.
Thank you for the ask Anon! Hopefully I'm able to share more of this story soon. ^^
