I wanted to be a good sport and I don't like to call people out unless I can do it in a light-hearted manner, but I draw a line at blatant hypocrisy.
You can't say that the poll results have nothing to do with popularity and then say that making it to the finals proves the significance of Destial. Well, newsflash Sulemio also made it to the finals but I guess doing so only matters when it's your ship and not ours.
Furthermore, people expected Destiel to make it to the finals. It's not impressive in the slightest. Meanwhile no one saw Sulemio get to the Finals least of all several of us who ship them. That's something that's worth respect.
Also claiming that Sulemio only stands a chance against your ship is because people are voting against Destiel is such a show of ignorance.
We went up against Narusasu, Hannigram, Hanamusa, Avatrice, Ineffable Husbands, and Bubbline. Say what you will about how many people don't know about Sulemio several of these are some heavy hitters following your own argument and Sulemio won against those. Destiel is not an anomaly for losing against Sulemio despite supposedly being a bigger ship and older ship on Tumblr.
Yeah, the spite/meme voting is the reason for the landslide but it's so disrespectful to ignore that Sulemio won against ships that you do know about. Better yet, there are several people who did want Destiel to win who later changed their minds because of the entitlement of some of their shippers.
As the great @the-eeveekins has already pointed out Sulemio got more votes than Destiel in all the poles they were in. That would seem to indicate that we had stiffer competition than you. You had the numbers but you didn't have to use them. You had it easy. We fought to get to the finale while you didn't and you still think your ship should win just because.
Even if we couldn't beat Destiel without the help of people who voted more against Destiel than for Sulemio, what then? We're weaker than you because people who don't know Sulemio are voting for them? You can call Destiel the Tumblr ship as much as you want but evidently Tumblr is not on your side. What must people think of you that they want to vote for a ship they don't know over your ship?
I'm sorry if this came off as mean-spirited. I don't want to hurt anyone but enough is enough.
To my fellow Sulemio shippers I'll like to say that I've really liked your responses throughout this bracket and I wish you the best of luck but I'm checked out. It's been fun to follow along with this bracket and for the most part people have been quite respectful towards one another. Yet, while I'll still check the numbers on the poll, for the sake of self-care I will no longer engage with this bracket.
