my mother died on saturday. i don't know what i'm supposed to do now. a part of me died too.

If Dylan was a tad closer, Han would scoff right in his face. Instead he settles on a disapproving look, though the cracks quickly show through his facade. “What? Like being a simp’s suddenly a bad thing now?” Han doesn’t dare look at him, quickly snapping his phone shut instead. He is of course, joking around. “Of course I’m a simp. Have you seen yourself?” Truth be told, whilst exciting in every aspect of the word, the idea of following Dylan back home is slightly scary. He hadn’t really thought about the weather before. “Not really,” Han admits with a shrug, “But I’ll live. It’ll totally be worth the sweatiness.”

"When isn’t she?” Hyunwoo replies without much thought at all, he’s gotten used to drowning out the complaints and disappointment. Their dad, thankfully, has been nothing but supportive: glad that he finally found something he wanted to do once he was done with school. It was rather hit and miss at the time. Letting his hands settle in his lap, Hyunwoo’s fingers fiddle idly with one another. “Nah, it’s okay. Mom’ll probably just more annoyed. Just gotta get better with the selective hearing you know?”

“So...” Yann parrots, peering down at Mae beside him, all smiley and sweet. He can’t help but smile, only a little though, ‘cause he knows when she wants something. He’s seen it a hundred times, but this time he’ll regret to tell her, she won’t get anything out of him. Not only that, but Seven would positively perish if he saw anything remotely familiar in one of her books. A shake of the head would suffice right? Well, he shakes it nevertheless. An embarrassed way of saying ‘not yet thank you very much’. “Not yet, not for Seven’s lack of trying though... want it to be special, you know?”

“Of course I do, it’ll be fine!” Hyunwoo reassures Seungwoo, so easily in fact, one wouldn’t know it was the whitest of lies. His dad taught him a little while ago that white lies aren’t so bad, as long as they’re not hurting anyone. At least, if asked such a particular question, Hyunwoo can be honest and say he has done this at least two times before. “You have such little faith in me that you would use such fear mongering tactics... For shame, I’m hurt.” Hyunwoo tries his best not to laugh, lest his fingers slip with the scissors in them as he takes another section of hair between them and snipping at the ends.

Before Nadia can even answer Léo, her hands go up above her head, pleading her innocence before him. Everyone knows their dad is the one that does all the stress cleaning, not her. In fact, she couldn’t think of anything worse than moving all of her brothers stuff around. God only knows where it’s all been. “Why do you always come after me first?!” Nadia whines, nudging towards the counter top with her nose, just besides the microwave, where their father just loves to pile up ‘everyone else's stuff’. “Are you sure it’s not in the computer room?”

Donghwi was in the midst of trying to remove some unsightly chewing gum from one of the pair of his new trainers when Suji came home. A hello sits on the tip of his tongue, he’d have gotten up to hug her if he wasn’t trying to focus on this damned gum. He prepares himself for whatever gossip or complaint she has from the day only to be greeted by something much worse. Enough for him to yank his head back, finally pushing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose and glare towards the door. “Again?” Donghwi asks with a thud of the trainer hitting the dining table. “Do these people have nothing better to do?” He complains, not wanting an answer as he pulls himself away from the table and towards the door. Conveniently a baseball bat sits besides the front door, but he wonders if it would be necessary. Grabbing the door handle instead, he has a couple last moment questions for good measure. “How far did he follow you for earlier? Did he say anything?”

Star was a little past three chapters into the latest book she’d bought for one of her college classes when she heard a noise. A particularly worrying noise, one she’d heard before that stuck with her enough to know better than to ever hear it again. She’d peeled herself away from the paragraph she was on, gently placing her bookmark towards the spine and shutting it with some semblance of hurry when.... five... four... three... two... one. Footsteps, the squeak of socks on hardwood flooring, the hollow thud against the stairs. Wiping the frown of worry off her face, Star tries not to smirk as Apple barges in. “What have you done? Which ones going to kill you this time?” Star questions, pushing herself up from her desk chair with little urgency about it.

Haesoo can’t remember the last time he went to the arcade that wasn’t on his own. He’ll be damned and Myungjun’s days numbered if he doesn’t waddle home with at least one stuffed animal of Myungjun’s winning. Or through a little team-work, Haesoo’s good with that too, and certainly not fussy. “I am aware, yes.” He points out, sure to roll his eyes towards the taller of the two. A kiss on the head won’t quench his thirst, even if he’s grinning at the sign of affection. “But it’s much more gratifying to earn it yourself right, babe? I’ll be sure to thank you soooo well later...”

Barely a lick of sunlight peeks through the blinds but Henry still squeezes his eyes shut as if it’ll help them readjust when he inevitably has to watch Minjun leave anyway, as he thinks of something useful to say. ‘I want to cuddle’ feels a bit too much but ‘it’s not like this is some one night stand where we’ll never have to see each other again’ feels crude, wrong even. Instead he pushes onto his side, quick to pull the duvet back over his shoulders properly despite the movement beside him. “Not really,” he lies as easy as breathing, “Well, kind of. But it’s alright. Didn’t want you just disappearing on me anyway so it’s really okay.”

Yoona considers the possibility that she should’ve stopped talking five minutes ago. She loves the sound of her own voice, as some people say... and well, they’re not exactly wrong but she’s not sure if she’s picking up something that Daeyeol isn’t putting down or if she’s just becoming self aware. Looking at the kimbap, Yoona noses towards them. “Wait, are any going out of date? I’ll take a couple if they are... and we can share them! I can’t eat too many anyway.” Pulling her gaze back toward Daeyeol, she hums at the sight of him. Yoona almost says something nice when he might as well have shoved a knife in her chest and twisted it a dozen times. Her mouth drops, mild offense bleeding into her heart. “I can’t just return them! They’re like my babies... could you return your babies Daeyeol?! I could just... work instead... You’re hardly selling the place though.”

Jangjun looks like he should stink. Sweaty, his sports kit clinging to his arms the right places, feet muddy. Yet here is Jeongin, grinning like a cat that got the milk for only a second or two, as he takes the opportunity to really look at Jangjun properly: he couldn’t smell better. Hands free of the Yakult container, hands dig partially into his pockets, sitting there as he tries to make some semblance of conversation despite the worry that Jangjun will very much laugh him off the field. “A friend and her boyfriend invited me and some others to Noraebang, but I don’t really want to be the fifth wheel... you’re like the only other person I know that isn’t embarrassingly socially awkward so I thought I’d ask you.”

Rolling onto his back, Daehwi huffs towards the ceiling. “Pfff, is it more unbelievable than aliens? ‘Cause they’re totally real you know. Even if I haven’t actually seen one myself.” If he actually brought his glasses, he’d be making a whole thing of pushing them back up his nose like the ‘nerds’ in all those movies he watches to fall asleep. “But I won’t die if you don’t tell me, I guess. Your top secret project can stay a secret if you want.” All he knows is that he’s seen a lot of what looks like maps and some other things he had to squint at from the distance he’s been perched at. Daehwi wonders now, if there’s a lot more to learn about Seungmin than he thought. But he’s got time. Nothing but time, actually. “Look at me right now,” he says, pulling the biggest pout he can manage, flicking some stray hair from across his face with his index finger. “Tell me I’m not wasting away! All untouched and attention starved! I’m just like Tinkerbelle!”

“Because all my classes are taught in English,” Daehyun answers with a scoff, barely missing a beat before he’s bringing out the excuses. “Well, except for Italian anyway but even that’s like, high school level... and it hasn’t even started yet.” He scratches his cheek in thought for a moment, before fearing that Giulia may just have a point. “I... I’m not going to say you’re right but... you’re not exactly wrong either.” Daehyun should really be counting his blessing’s that Giulia knows English in the first place. Otherwise they wouldn’t be where they are right now. “I don’t know, what do your parents like? Something to do with their hobbies? How do I say their daughter is very pretty?”

“Well I’m glad you didn’t,” Donghwi admits as he settles into the passenger seat, placing down his tote bag between his feet. He chooses something honest, but not too... eager? There’s a lot of obstacles for them to tend to before Donghwi can let himself fall into a comfortable middle. All of his own doing, mind. Today should be the start of that, and he reminds himself that with a hum as he fixes the seatbelt across his chest and into the buckle. “So I got us reservations at a place in Mapo-gu, near the Trick Eye Museum thing... So I thought we could go there first? It looks.. cool.”
