if you asked me years ago if rpf would ever become mainstream, to the point where corporations and mainstream media see/discuss it, i would've said ur absolutely batshit insane and the fact that that's where we are now makes me sickkkkk. leaving fandom spaces like livejournal/tumblr/etc broke the fourth wall so hard i don't think it'll ever come back.

gonna hold so many people's hands when i say this but any man who is truly "woke" would not be able to grow up in the environment that is required to make it to the nhl. even if he votes blue and thinks gay people deserve rights, if he's in the nhl, he's complicit in an environment that has done so much harm to multiple communities. this is true for most male centric sport leagues, so i just don't get the surprise every single time something like this happens.
