What's in Your Idea Box?

It was another day 123 Cherry Tree Lane, and Gabby was getting lessons about playing the drums from Rich.

After telling him about DJ Catnip, The Music Room, and the various instruments DJ Catnip had (including Gabby's favorite instrument, the ukele), Rich thought it would be a good idea to teach her about the instruments The Movers played.

"Are you sure it's okay for me to play your drums?" Gabby asked.

Like with The Movers's special gadgets, nobody else was allowed play Rich's drums except for Smitty.

Rich nods, smiling as he hands her his Scribble Sticks.

"I'm sure."

Before Rich began teaching, someone asked:

"A little help, please?"

Gabby giggles and Rich chuckles when Scott came into The Think Tank, wrapped up in a jump rope.

"Don't worry, Scott: I'll get you untangled."

As Rich helped Scott, Gabby practiced twirling one of the Scribble Sticks (she seen Rich do it once and she thought it was a-meow-zing), but it slipped out of her hand, and it started rolling down the hallway.

Gabby looked over at Rich, who was still helping Scott, and she ran after the runaway Scribble Stick.

Back in The Think Tank, Rich managed to get Scott untangled, and Scott smiles.

"Thanks, Rich! I wanted to show Gabby that I learned how to jump rope, but I always…wait, where's Gabby?"

Rich looks confused as he turns around, and frowns when he sees that his drum set was empty, and no sign of Gabby.

"She was just here: where did she go?" Rich asked, and Scott picks up Pandy.

"And she left Pandy behind: that's not a good sign."

That only made Rich worry.

Pandy was Gabby's stuffed cat companion, and she never leaves Pandy all by himself.

Where is Gabby, and why didn't she take Pandy?

Rich shakes his head, and he looks at Scott.

"I'm going to go find her: can you stay here, in case she comes back?"

Scott nods.

"Sure."

Rich smiles.

"Thanks!"

And off he went to find Gabby.

In the hallway, Gabby stood in front of a door, and she realized she had been in this situation before, when she came to The Idea Warehouse with Nina the first time.

She shakes her head, and looks at the sign.

"The Sleeping Dragon Room?" she asked, slightly curious and somewhat nervous.

She knew The Movers didn't have anything scary hidden away behind these doors (they even had a Not-So-Scary Room), but she was pretty sure this room was off-limits for a reason.

"But I have to get the Scribble Stick back, or Rich will be mad at me. What should I do, Pandy?"

That's when she realized:

I left him in The Think Tank with Rich and Scott.

Gabby was so focused on the Scribble Stick that she must have left him there, and Pandy was Gabby's constant companion whenever she goes on an adventure.

Since she couldn't ask Pandy, she made the decision to go inside.

When she steps inside, she gasps softly.

In front of her was a sleeping dragon, and it wasn't like the colorful, friendly dragon Pillowcat would read to her and Pandy during story time.

And in front of the dragon was Rich's Scribble Stick.

She was going to walk towards it when something (or rather, someone) stopped her.

"Gabby!"

Gabby turns around to see Rich behind her.

"Come on, we should get out of here before the dragon wakes up."

"But what about your Scribble Stick?" Gabby asked, and Rich shook his head.

"Leave it: your safety is more important, and Dave can always make me another one."

Gabby nods, and backs away slowly until she was by Rich, and as they step out of the hallway, Rich closes the door.

They walk back to The Think Tank in silence, until Gabby broke it by saying:

"Are you mad at me?"

Rich looks at her surprised.

"No, of course not."

Gabby could feel tears forming behind her eyes.

"But, I lost your Scribble Stick, and I know how important your Scribble Sticks are to you."

Rich looks at her, and it was the same look he gave her in The Dollhouse Room:

It was full of love for this girl who appeared at The Idea Warehouse, and has been his friend ever since.

"Gabby, you are important to me. You are like a little sister to me. I could never be mad at you."

Gabby looks at him, her eyes shiny with tears.

"Are you sure? You promise?"

Rich gives Gabby a hug, and when Gabby pulls away, Rich looks at her.

"I promise I'm not mad at you."

Gabby smiles as she sniffs, and she looks at him.

"Race you back to The Think Tank?"

Rich looks at her, smiling too.

"Sure."

And they race back to The Think Tank, where Pandy and Scott were waiting for them.
