Major League Baseball should reach out to more people to bring more fans into the ballpark during the 2015 season. Reaching out to people like families would be a great niche or baseball. Designing the stadiums with amenities around families could make a world of difference. Amenities like more family restrooms and food a mother wouldn’t be afraid to feed a toddler. The goals for the #THIS @mlb ad campaign are quite simple: to cause a newfound love for baseball and foster an interest so more people start becoming baseball fans in the stadiums fill up again. The use of strategies in social media to help achieve goals and promote your business is what most organizations are scrambling to get a foothold in these days. Campaigning your business with the use of social media like Facebook and Twitter is vital to survive in today’s market. However, social media marketing is arduous and never ending. Nevertheless, when done successful, it will allow you to share relevant messages with your audience, as well as listening to what your fans have to say. Furthermore, it will allow fans and friends of your social media page to also share whatever is currently happening with your organization. Also share whatever is currently happening you’re your organization. Lastly, we should embrace every technical and social media element so the MLB could propel the campaign. Social media elements such as Google+ for instance. Also, Twitter, Facebook, and site optimization are vital. Having a strong following on social media and allowing fans to read good content and to repost across the social media world is the quickest and cheapest way to promote your marketing campaign online.I believe #THIS was chosen as the official # of the campaign because they are reminding fans that THIS is happening. THIS is going on in the town near you. THIS is what you remember from your childhood. THIS is Americana. THIS is what you should be watching. I believe #THIS was a complete failure and did not create a groundswell to bring people into the ball parks. In one sentence; I believe this was because #THIS was not as aggressive as it should have been for the size of the MLB as an organization.

Digital native vs digital immigrant. I am considered a digital native because I was born in 1987. The general consensus out there is that anyone born before 1985 is considered a digital immigrant. I have always been heavily into technology, and this has brought me full circle to where we are today. The funny thing is, there are many digital immigrants who are more savvy than us digital natives. For example, my friend Steve was born in 1971, so he is clearly a digital immigrant. However, even though he was devoid of the Internet in his younger years, he was quite savvy with writing code on the old Commodore 64 and Radio Shack model trs-80. Mini digital immigrants fully embrace technology and like us Digital Natives, they don’t know what they would do without it. Nevertheless, they do remember what it was like to only have a landline in your house and always needing to ride your bicycle to the library if you need to find out information on a topic.  Most likely there’s an issue today regarding how some schools who have not fully embraced the digital world, neglect to recognize that Digital Natives could quite possibly need an altered version of today’s course syllabuses. I for one have been able to embrace both of these avenues and angles of Technology as I am an avid user of every type of new technology I can get my hand on. Even though I understand how and why I fall into the category of digital native, I still have a strong grasp on what it is like to be a digital immigrant.
