A lot of creators think TikTok is “shadowbanning” them, but most of the time the issue is way simpler. TikTok tests every video in a tiny sample audience first. If the hook is weak, the topic isn’t clear, or the watch time drops instantly, the video never gets pushed out.

Here are the biggest reasons this happens:

Weak hook in the first 1–2 seconds If people swipe immediately, TikTok kills the video.

TikTok can’t identify your topic Your caption, on‑screen text, and audio need to match.

Your audience doesn’t match your content If your followers don’t care about the topic, TikTok stops pushing it.

Posting too inconsistently Long gaps or rapid‑fire posting both hurt distribution.

Low account trust New accounts or accounts that delete a lot of videos get slower distribution.
