It’s time for headcanons. I imagine that Kanan (or Caleb? :3) had time to use force to move to a safe place, but he was still hurt and almost the whole right side of his torso was blown up by an explosion. So he had to wear a prostheses hiding damaged part of his body.  And yeah - Kanan is ALIVE.(◕‿◕✿）
