BACKGROUND:
Fog Gate was really all Becca had known for her entire life. Her mother died during childbirth, leaving her to a single father who worked construction until an injury left him heartbroken and unable to work, the loss of his wife and a steady income causing him to turn towards alcohol. Rebecca, who’d really only ever gone as Becca, was just a kid, forced to grow up and take care of dad. Their small home was in tatters from the time she was born, days where she’d sneak into school early to shower and freshen up from the water bill being paid.
In school, she really just average, never anything particularly special. She joined a few clubs here and there, but when she became old enough to work and make it so her and her dad weren’t living off social security and workers compensation, that was where her focus went. The kind of girl to really just sit in the back of the class and let everyone else do the talking.
Her life could really just be described as tragic, though it wasn’t something she willingly talked about. When Becca was sixteen, she lost her dad to liver failure, and spent the last two years of her life in the foster care system, already focused on saving up for a place to live once she turned 18. College was never a thought, immediately getting to work the first second she could. At first, it was for her father’s sake, but after a while, she wanted to be able to stand on her own too.
At 19, the owner of Deadlights offered her a job as a bartender, the money and tips decent enough for her to be able to finally get up. Since then, she’s never really been able to let go of the place, not that there were many other places that would hire her at this point.
Over the years, she developed a reputation for her short temper and loud mouth. Becca had never been the friendly or outgoing kind, which was why a place like Deadlights was maybe the only place in town that suited her. She isn’t outwardly mean, but isn’t regarded as particularly friendly either.

Wears a lot of thrifted and handmade clothing. With limited money growing up and no mom around, Becca learned to be crafty when she was young, learning how to make her own clothes when too many kept on getting torn up from overuse. In another world, she would’ve liked to be designer, but she mainly just makes things for herself now, or fixes up thrifted items.
Born to a Chinese mother and Italian father, Becca feels disconnected from her Asian heritage due to never being able to meet her mother.

Considering her childhood, she’s the responsible type. A bit cheap and likes to save her money for most things. Despite living in Fog Gate, she has enough to move to a nicer area but won’t because she feels it’s a waste.

Grew up super tomboyish. Mainly from not having a mother, but she was definitely the rougher, sportier type as a kid who got uncomfortable at the idea of girly things.
