Have you ever wanted something so badly but you had no idea how to get started or if you had the skills to do it? That's how I felt at this time last year. I knew that I needed a big change but I had no idea about how or when or what I was going to do. So I started with choosing a word to focus on in 2012. The word I chose was ACTION.
ActionÂ
That was my word for 2012. Honestly, I really wasn't prepared for what it might bring into my life. This single act, choosing one word to focus my mind, made a huge difference in what I did and how I made decisions.
Having spent 2011 feeling completely out of control and unhappy, it just felt right to take some action. We were not placed here on the Earth to live a life full of sadness and dispare. 2011, for me, was so sad and depressing that I needed a year to refuel and recoop and recharge and the only way that seemed possible to me was to take action.
So, what happened in 2012? I listened, responded to things, met new people, made big decisions, made little everyday small decisions, pushed through some frustration, discovered myself again and truly had one of the most rewarding years of my life.
For 2013, the word I choose should seek to build on the progress made in 2012. So, I've decided on - PRACTICE.
I'm not a good practicer. I'm the person always looking for the next thing and enjoying learning new things, forgetting things I've learned, just to have a new experience.Â
Now, I want to practice. I've seen how it changes and deepens life to practice. My husband is a good practicer. There are so many areas in my life that NEED me to practice.
In 2013 I want to practice...
...growing my business
...learning more about my camera
...meditation
...pilates
...eating good things
...riding my bike
...being a good friend
...being a good wife
...being a good family member (sister, daughter, etc.)
...decorating my house
...doing more with less
...caring for myself
...sewing and crafting
...learning
...being a good human
