Hey kids, Goditas here! Just an update on Reaper Reaper Game: God Mode status updates!
Firstly; we’re almost done coming up with missions, there’s only 17 hours worth of time left to fill before we start working out mechanics and what each mission’s actual objective is. Any missions we can’t make work within the Game will be discarded and replaced with something more suitable of course. GM is, of course, a Last Man Standing run of RRG and lasts for 72 hours.
We’ll be bringing you more news on that front in the future! But for now, let’s discuss something that is a very key part of the RRG: Reapers.
We’ve made an executive decision that Reapers will function slightly differently during God Mode than they do during normal games. During normal Games, Reapers are available for application just like Players and in general the only real distinction between Players and Reapers are that I use them as manual labor during Games, in order to help keep up with the admin side of things like scores and such.
During GM however, the position is more formal. IT IS A TEMPORARY STAFF POSITION. A sideblog has been created here and Reapers during GM will be added as members to that blog. Reapers in RRG: GM will have ranks and their roles will differ based on these ranks. Everything in this post can be found on the Reaper blog between the FAQ and the Reaper Handbook but we’ll go over it quick just in case something isn’t clear.
What ranks will there be?
There will be the same three ranks as there are in TWEWY canon; Support Harrier and Officer.
Again, same as in canon. Support Reapers will be our walls. That’s it, that’s all they can do in terms of actions. They can raise and lower walls, present challenges to impede Players and step in as backup mods if needed.
Harriers will, of course, be harrying. They’ll be the ones fighting Players, summoning Noise that aren’t attached to a Wall challenge, etc.
Finally we have Officers. There will only ever be four Officers at a time, and two are permanent Senior Officers; Rainy and Adachi, as Admin, are the Senior Officers and the Admin Liaisons. They are also the ones who will choose two trustworthy Reapers to be given the position of Junior Officer for the duration of that Game. Officers will be given admin status of the blog in order to be available for questions from Players and the ability to answer asks, though we request that those chosen remove themselves from admin/blog membership once the Game is over as we will be cycling Reapers each Game run.
Due to it being an official, if temporary, staff position being a Reaper for GM requires a different process than normal Games. To become one, you, obviously, fill out the application. Once it’s been processed, you’ll either be accepted or rejected based on a council decision. If accepted, you’ll be granted a skype interview with one of the council members. If you pass this initial interview, you’ll be kicked up the ladder to a group chat comprised of both the full admin council and potential other Reapers.
We’re looking for cohesion and members who get along and can work together. Therefore, group chat will be utilized to get to know each other and see if there’s anyone who just can’t work within the group.
If you’re rejected after this point, we apologize but most likely you just didn’t work well with the current group. That’s alright though! Reapers are dropped and renewed each Game run so even if you don’t get along well with the group that time, there’s no reason not to try again next Game! You might work better with the next one.
