it’s not every day a thing outwits him    —    it’s not every day he manages to feel pain. of course this thing is as bright as the boy he’s entranced. but he didn’t think it’d be such a powerful menace without it’s master.    (   what a vile little brat, how dare you behave this way!   )

it burns him   —   in a way fire has never betrayed him. he screams;   like a feral beast, knocking back into marble wall. nearly trembling…   his body feels hot, skin ripped apart   —   sizzling. the scent of his flesh   —  it smells like rot. his body is too hot to move   &   his lungs can’t quite get the air they need. dark crimson has spilled everywhere, not just on his person   —   but the key as well…   he sees that through foggy lenses.   (   oh, how he’s laughing   —   insane yet most amused.   )  

“   sora,   ”   voice croaking…    the grin is sadistic.    “   really won’t like this.   ”

DISPLEASING     HIS     MASTER     sent     a     sharp     pain     through     the     heart  ,     a     key     was     so     closely     knit     to     the     conscience     of     its     wielder     ;          king     only     hoped     finishing     this     beast     off     would     break     the     shackles     malleus     had     wound     him     in  .

FACE     DRIPPING     WHITE     and     body     lightly     splattered     red  ,     king     did     his     best     to     ignore     the     tares     to     his     own     skin  ,     approaching     the     witch     instead     and     pressing     a     palm     to     his     throat  ,     still     warm     with     the     purity     he’d     cast  .

shit, shit, shit, shit!   a hiss    —     now more feral than faerie. oh, damn this disgusting little thing!   fingers blackened as digs deeper, out of spite   —   scorched   &   stained   —   yet still going. he’s not weak that he needs to stop so soon. sharp nails dig down into bone    &   digging further still. if this thing is foolish enough to speak so rudely;   it’s strong enough to withstand the consequences.

THE     PAIN     IS     BLINDING     and     being     so     easily     harmed     scares     the     ancient     key  ,     yet     he     is     stubborn     and     determined  ,     refusing     to     falter     even     as     water     fills     his     eyes     and     fingers     ball     to     fists  .

A     SHIMMER     OF     LIGHT     SPILLS     FROM     A     PALM  ,     quickly     readying     a     spell         ───         so     this     monster     has     a     weakness  ,     does     it     ?          king     falters     however     as     a     spineless     threat     was     offered  ,     nearly     obeying     to     it  ....  ....          but     no  ,     sora     was     already     being     hurt     by     his     hand  ,     beasts     never     play     fair  .          an     arm     flies     up     in     seconds  ,     palm     raised     skyward  ,     and     as     quick     as     he     can    kingdom     key     casts     holy  ,     a     pillar     of     burning     white     soon     slamming     down  .

BROWS     PINCH     IN     DISCOMFORT     and     a     wince     distorts     features     just     so           ───          he     is     not     used     to     being     so     easily     harmed  ,     true     form     welded     from     metal     and     magic  .          glare     stays     strong     however     even     as     skin     breaks  ,     and     light          ───          a     non  ―  physical     force          ───          was     then     made     tangible     ;          the     substance     pooled     at     the     small     breaks     in     his     cheeks     caused     by     sharp     nails  ,     luminescent     and     glowing     golden     white     as     it     dripped     upon     malleus’     hand  .

WELL          ───          OUT     OF     ANY     QUESTION     he     could     be     asked     he     wasn’t     anticipating     that     one          (     though     knowing     jill  ,     he     really     should     have     )          a     slight     laugh  ;          caught     of     guard  ,     but     king     wasn’t     all     too     affected     aside     from     a     minor     flush     of     cheeks  .
