She deadass lived in the heart of it. 💀

She lived a good chunk of her life in Oklahoma specifically Tahlequah, Cherokee Country bro.

Her Grandpa Tom told her stories and most likely showed her other stuff like stomp and powwows. She would have known what being Cherokee is cuz of she grew up around them. She would’ve known the songs. She would’ve known the dances. She already knows the stories, and most likely knew the language, even if she knew a few words.

Piper would’ve had a good understanding of being an Indigenous person in America. Not necessarily as a Cherokee person but an Indigenous one.

Even when she was bullied for it when she was in school in California, that foundation does not go away. And it’s clear she hold that part of her very closely.

Like Tristan continued to teach her even after his father died and they moved away. Like he makes a connection with the Greek stories to Cherokee stories when he makes the connection of Enceladus to Judaculla.

Last night, me and my roommate counted how many times “Sejanus” or “Plinth” was mentioned in TBOSAS.

(idk if she’d be friendly with lysistrata or clemensia since, even tho they’re comparatively nicer to others in the capitol, they’re also friends with coriolanus. maybe she sees persephone makes snow uncomfortable (even if that sentiment is one-sided) and that makes her gain a bit of favor in katniss’s eyes?)

I think in the beginning, some would try and talk to her just to get a sense of her character. They know she’s not from the Capitol but they won’t know what district she’s from either (they assumed she’s from d2 cuz of Sejanus) but no one really cares about that. They’re trying to see how far they can take it with her and see how similar her and Sejanus are. They get bored of it after like a month cuz Katniss won’t react or respond to anything they say and just stares at them until they get uncomfortable.

For Clemensia, I think Katniss would notice that she’s nicer than others but she won’t go out of her way to make friends with her because she sees how close her and snow are and Katniss is trying to stay as far away from him as possible. I wouldn’t say acquaintances either but if clemmie asked for a pencil Katniss would give her one. (Everyone else she just says no to them 💀)

For Lysistrata, Katniss does like her in a “Effie and her prep team” kind of way. She’ll like her more as time goes on. Katniss goes to her if she needs help with schoolwork or to have lunch with her, if Sejanus isn’t available (maybe she has lunch with them sometimes) but I think she does keep her at arm’s length because she hangs with snow.

Katniss does keep both of them at a distance because of Snow and she doesn’t want any chance of him getting any info about her personal life to him. For as long they are hanging out with Snow, Katniss will not give them any personal info about herself to them.

For Persephone, she definitely tries to befriend her, only because Snow is wildly uncomfortable around her and she’s wants to know why, (mainly cuz it’s funny to her.)

The other academy take notice that something happened with Snow and Sejanus and Katniss is involved. they try to get info about her (anything, they’re that desperate) they know that her and Snow have beef and they know that Sejanus doesn’t talk to Snow anymore than he use too. They see that Snow is not happy about it either. They ask Sejanus, he pleads the fifth, they ask Snow, he doesn’t know. Now they are trying to get as close as possible to Katniss to get anything out of her.

(Pup is the one who suggests that it’s because Sejanus found out about Snow talking shit. They all disagree and he laughs in their faces when he’s proven right.)

Someone in the comments was talking about Katniss going into the arena to get Sejanus out and that Coryo made it a competition. Now I had a sad idea from it.

Here it is, we know that the bow was never picked up in the arena, so when Sejanus goes in to spread breadcrumbs on Marcus’s body, Snow and Katniss go in there to get him cuz neither knew he would do that. Katniss being a survivor, she sneaks over to grab the bow just in case someone tries to attack. They talk to Sejanus and manage to get him to leave and well…

Bobbin comes out. 

Katniss tries to distract Bobbin long enough so that they get out. Because she has the bow, so shoots him in the foot—not kill him but slows him down— just long enough for her to run back to the entrance, she manages to catch up to Snow and Sejanus but she’s just far behind that the guards lock the gate on the order of Gaul

It was a last minute decision to make but

My headcanons is that… they have the most based friendship. Literally two peas in a pod. They might be siblings guys. Ong they talk shit about everyone.

Ma definitely does Katniss’s hair everyday before school cuz she finally has a daughter 😫lunches packed and everything. The mother Katniss couldn’t have…

Strabo and Katniss… well they know each other exists. Strabo seen how much Katniss makes Sejanus happy and can’t deny him anything anymore.(Sejanus promised to behave) bro did not take into account that a friend of Sejanus is gonna act like him(he gets a callback from the school)

Well well well… Snow and Katniss. They exist to make each others life hell and this time Katniss has the upper hand. With a friend that actually wants to be his friend and who understands him, Sejanus drifts away from Snow and moves on with his life. Snow doesn’t take that realization very well and Katniss realizes this too.

I mainly want to give thanks to @tumblingghosts for all their TBOSAS time traveling posts and writings I’ve had stuck in my head for a while. Peak brain btw.
