I fortunately have a job where I can do independent study during my downtime. So I've been doing a LOT of learning-- but I haven't had much time outside of work to practice, which is the most important part. Specifically, I want to get into environments and do more landscape studies. So here's one I threw together in about 90 minutes last night, based on a waterfall on the Minnesota / Wisconsin border. The waterfall itself and the right side got rushed because I ran out of time, but I'm really happy with how the rocks turned out, so I may or may not revisit this and push it further.

Finished this up last night and couldn't be more pleased with the result. I didn't start any new sketches this morning so I could get to work early, but I'll probably do more this weekend, as well as start my first real commission and putting together an invoice and contract.
