The thing is JeanKasa has always been a canon ship because it is backed by the story itself. For comparison, if Jean×Annie is a ship (hopefully it is), it would be a non-canon ship because nowhere in the story is there any kind of romantic set up between the two. Canon has nothing to do with how the characters interact within the story, but rather about the source of any particular component relating to the story.

So, I think JK is just as 'canon' today as it was ten years ago?
