This is a really lazy drawing but ohhh my god I needed to draw something after watching the new episodes

This explains a lot of why Lu Guang is largely desensitized to what he sees in the present day. His innocence gone at a young age (he can't be more than seven or eight here) being made to witness sleazy people do disgusting things... in this scene I'm pretty sure it's outright stated he's being made to watch people have sex in detail. Then, being ostracized later on for criminal rumours in which it would have been very bad for him if he'd reacted too strongly, since it's clear at least some of these rumour spreaders were itching for a fight: he'd have to learn how to school his expressions to avoid riling up the wrong people. Cheng Xiaoshi apparently forgetting him was, I think, the final straw: he has learned it's just not worth it to open up, so he shut down.
