The drawing illustrates our deep connection to the land, rooted in the legacy of my grandparents, whose forced displacement from their homeland never meant they forgot it.

The rising sun in the white or the moon shining in the black signifies hope that one day light will prevail. The depiction of the man’s chest represents masculinity, strength, and tenderness in popular culture, symbolizing the steadfastness of our roots and the strength of our homeland.

The Palestinian man and woman embody the generations building our nation with love, preserving our cultural heritage, and celebrating the blessings of our land. The dove represents the peace we aspire to show the world.

The olive tree is a symbol of our land, representing its deep roots, peace, and security. It is a blessed and sacred tree in all divine religions.

In the midst of daily life, between the struggles of our responsibilities and the pressures of pursuing our dreams, we find ourselves battling through the darkness and harshness of war. Yet, we continuously try to find a glimmer of hope, one that God opens for us from a bright angle that we may not see now, but it’s there, waiting for us.

Will we reach this dream, or will it remain like a mirage that we cling to with our patience every day? Perhaps we won’t fulfill it in this dark world, but we believe in the rise of a new sun, a day when hope blossoms. And even if we are not there to witness it, we hope to leave a mark, for our presence to have meaning somewhere, far from this darkness, toward a new light.
