RANGREZA

During my college and university years, the much anticipated summer break always proved to be “I’m-bored-to-death”-boring within a matter of days!! Being away from friends, not being able to roam around the HUMONGOUS grounds of Karachi University and being deprived of SUfI’s ki daal, terminal ka juice and PG kay samoosay made life oh so dull!  So, naturally, I often found myself crafting my boredom away and assigning myself different projects each summer to bring together all the things that I’d make. In 2009 it was a Facebook group (I hope nobody remembers it! Planning to kill anyone who does!), in 2010 it was a website and in 2011 it was a Facebook page called “Satrangi”. It started as just another project for another year but soon it turned into a well shaped, well planned online store.

The instant love and appreciation it got has been simply amazing and heart-warming, Alhamdulillah. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Over the years I have met some amazing people through Satrangi, have received comments that still make me feel humbled and overwhelmed! It has taught me alot and has helped me grow professionally and personally. But I still miss Sufi ki daal and PG kay samoosay :) This year’s summer project is BIG!!!  I like to call it the “bring-back-Satrangi” project as I haven’t been able to given much time to Satrangi lately. But now we are bring it back!!! Same old style with an added kick of awesomeness!!! While the name Satrangi holds great emotional value for me and my friends and family, I believe it is time for a fresh start; for a new name!!! After many suggestions and group discussions we’ve settled upon a name suggested by a friend. We are changing our brand’s name from “SATRANGI”, which means seven colors, to “RANGREZA” which means the dyer.
