He leaves suspiciously
As panic enters
Geography for beginners
Barter for the rest of your life
Feeling wasted comes in waves
Orient harder
Bend your molten face
To smile at a stranger
How much for a life you don’t despise

for several weeks now, i’ve been experiencing increasingly bad headaches, migraines, muscle aches, and generally feeling like crap on top of my usual almost unbearable nerve pain. i’m not sure of the specific cause – i think it’s related to the CRPS/RSD in my neck and shoulder which is triggering a lot of the migraines and headaches, but it’s probably in a big picture sense simply the interaction between CRPS/RSD, fibromyalgia, and stress, all of which i have in abundance.
today has been particularly bad. i’ve got so much that i need to accomplish, but i can barely function. when i have to walk out of the blessedly darkened office i work in and into the glare of the overhead fluorescent lighting, it’s like having ice picks stuck into my brain. repeatedly.
so tired of being in pain.
so much pain, all the time.

I wrote this entry a few weeks before the MRI that found a 40mm by 7mm syrinx inside my cervicothoracic spinal cord, which was the cause of all of my back, neck, and shoulder pain, and headaches. Reading it now takes me right back to that place when I was first diagnosed and 8 was so absolutely desperate for relief that I agreed to an invasive, extensive surgery to place a shunt and do a laminoplasty of 3 vertebrae despite having almost no information on what was happening or what to ask. Now I know the surgeon was extremely underqualified, exaggerated his experience, and made choices that will most likely lead to serious complications down the road. It's amazing how fast things can change. I saw that this year - going from stable and pretty functional to losing huge amounts of neurological function and ending up in the hospital and the in a nursing home for a month because of a CDC Guidelines/DEA triggered medication change done over two months that severely destabilized my whole system. My meds are about to change again, and I'm worried. I can only hope that the couple good doctors I have left will help make it as smooth as possible and get me through any and all rough spots without hospitalization.
