Being autistic feels like the shift where you go from being a kid to an older teenager/young adult and suddenly nothing works for you anymore, the only difference being that no matter how hard you try, it will never work. Honestly I don't miss being younger because there's nothing to miss, being a neurodiverse/disabled person in this world means never knowing what it feels like to have your needs met and having your childhood feel like adulthood.

You need to keep fighting for disabled people no matter what you personally think of their "bad" habits or symptoms.

People who don't brush their teeth ever

People that struggle to/can't bathe and have noticeable body scent

People who pick at and/or eat scabs, dry skin, snot, pimples, etc.

People who self-harm

People that urinate, drool or defecate on themselves, or struggle to clean up after doing so

People that swear, scream, or use "inappropriate" language

People that are mentally younger than their body

People that touch their genitals

People that use diapers or need someone to help them with toileting

People that do any or all of these things in public

Every single one of these things - and anything else you can imagine or not - deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. People who do these things deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.

At best, it's just none of your business, and at worst, you're insulting the only feasible quality of life for a disabled person.

If you are someone who has anything like this going on, just know you deserve love, don't owe anyone anything, and that anyone that treats you as lesser because of any of these things deserves a swift and strong kick in the teeth.
