Western Regions was a fixture of my life for so long I can’t imagine ever phasing it out. True, I don’t draw them consistently as I used, especially with so many new things in development, but I’ll never forget my space crew or the shining star that saved the galaxy! STARLIGHT the graphic novel drops THIS FRIDAY, JUNE 5th on my KO-FI SHOP!

It’s been hard work these past months to crank out this project but it’s finally finished and ready to share on my Ko-Fi shop! Of course the weekly updates will continue on Tapas! At Shackleton Moonbase, Andy (they/them) and Lyra (she/her) continue gunning for the crater’s edge! But they’re being pursued by some unknown hostile force! Also ERNIE their trusty bot companion is there too. 

I love teasing out story moments in these illustrations like some found footage thing or screenshots of an unaired cartoon. Now that STARLIGHT is wrapped up and is planned to release next Friday, I hope I can start the Shackleton Moonbase webcomic soon after as prepared as I can be!

Rainbow! I used this color scheme for Western Regions comic covers back in 2022 and I love to bring it back can! 

This was at first just a fun small warm up but it turned into a redux of an older 2023 banner piece that I still really like. Put into a square I think looks cool and as I said evokes a time of when this series was arguably at its peak. 

I hope even tho Western Regions is finished for now it can still be my flagship series that I’m known for. Even in the midst of new projects coming about this year.

Some more Zero and the Cyberhunters art! 

I just wanted to see more of Zero and the gang in action against digital monsters in the real world. As usual these concept images are more about just creating a cool picture about what could happen not making canon just yet. I like exploring this new world which is funny cos I already have so many story worlds it can become a lot to keep track all of it in my head or my notes. I dunno, hopefully y’all can keep track of the chaos too lol. Yes as stated before the digital monsters represent human greed, theft and environmental destruction manifested in evil tech gone awry and our heroes aim to defeat it once and for all.

Zero and Maya collage! 

I like to figure out character dynamics with these collages. It’s all still conceptual and very much still in progress but I like where it;s going so far. Story-wise, Zero and Maya become best friends after Zero saves her life from a digital monster attack. Maya is the first human Zero meets and begs for a place to stay where Motherboard won’t be looking for them, (Zero essentially ran away from cyberspace to live as a normal human teenager). Maya begrudgingly agrees, hoping to pass Zero off to someone else but eventually comes around to like having them around. Zero is so naturally curious of the world, naive but also very intelligent, they just have never interacted with humans before. Maya becomes their guide of sorts.

My yearly single contribution to Mermay! 

I don’t do the whole month but I like to come into the trend and offer my own thing. Back in 2018 I did a whole bunch of colorful mermaids in this same vain. Defenders of Atlantis pissed at you for fucking up their oceans. I did a green one last year so a blue this year and who knows maybe a red one next year idk lol.

At Shackleton Moonbase, Andy and Lyra navigate an abandoned base on their way out of the crater. Will this be where they can finally call for help? 

With STARLIGHT wrapping up and releasing within the next month, Shackleton Moonbase will be right around the corner to begin as my next webcomic! It’s been fun teasing out story beats for what was such a brand new concept just a year ago and now it’s fully written and ready to begin once I’m set. Note that these illustrations are not necessarily canon but are rather concept art that depicts how the story could look or go. The webcomic will have some differences but the characters and main plot beats will def be consistent.

Warm up doodle of Dakota and Sydney from Western Regions! 

I like making wholesome art when I feel down so I draw my blorbos hugging each other. It doesn’t change anything but it makes a cute doodle. As I keep saying, I hope I can keep Western Regions around even in small arts as i make brand new projects.
