Feel The Thunder

☯   “It will take time, yes,” the monk answered softly but with confidence as he released Satoshi’s hand. “But it is not impossible. With patience and guidance I am certain that you will be able to master this power as well as your fears.”  That didn’t mean the journey wouldn’t be difficult. Zenyatta felt that it was perhaps for the best to not dwindle away at what confidence the man had. “You are not a stranger to such challenges.”

Oh boy, how Satoshi knew too well that he was no stranger to such challenges. It had been that way since as far back as he could remember.

The many times that he struggled while growing up, trying to understand where his abilities came from and, his sweet adopted parents, they tried so hard to help him. But in the end, he felt trapped and imprisoned in his own home. Did he fair any better out in the real world? At least now, he had the assistance of the monk and, one who trusted him greatly. That, at least, was enough to settle his mind, if only just for a moment.

Since the incident that was that morning, Satya deliberately goes out of her way to avoid any sort of contact with him, to the point where her blatant distaste is evident to most any third party who hasn’t the slightest clue as to what their stance on one another was.

Unfortunately, it does not bode well with the blond Swiss medic whose fuse is shortened and tried on the daily. Satya may not be part of Overwatch, but she is part of the team and mission and needed to act the role. Tensions between teammates create less than favorable situations in the heat of battle. 

She takes to ordering that they share a common living space in the furthest recesses of headquarters. Satya is clearly displeased.

It’s evident on her face when she enters the small kitchenette area they now share, making a beeline for the coffee machine without so much as a word of greeting to him.

Honestly, this sort of thing was making his anxiety raise through the roof, as much as he tried to reassure Angela that things were just fine. However, now both he and Satya had to share a common living space for a while to try and make amends, which didn’t settle well within his mind at all.

Satoshi did glance up from what he was working on to see the woman herself go directly towards the coffee machine, without even as much as a word or looking in his direction. And that, it made him sigh heavily. No surprise there. Instead, he tried to busy his hands with cooking breakfast for himself, as well as make some extra for Satya. Though she might try all her while to ignore him, at least he didn’t want her to go hungry. He even had his long hair pulled up in a bun and wore a cute little apron while cooking.

Not like he cared.

☯ The omnic gave a nod. Zenyatta’s very soul ached to sooth the young man but…things like that could not be rushed. He’d take the burden from him if he could. Unfortunately, the monk could only do so much.

“Your powers are a gift, Satoshi. Perhaps it is time you start to see them as such. You must learn to trust yourself, my friend, just as I have come to trust you.” Zenyatta’s hand grasped his gloved one while giving him a little squeeze.

He glanced up towards the monk with wide eyes at his words. He.....trusted him? But, he could very much shut him down, or make him malfunction because of said powers. How could he trust him, when others would not?

She makes a little noise. 

It probably means that she’s happy.

Satoshi is just going to lead her off to enjoy some tea and mochi.

She let her head fall to the table with a thump.

“Something sweet please.”

“Then I have plenty of sweet treats with your name on it.”

She downs the rest of her glass and set it on the table. 

She scoots the glass away from her.

“That would be nice, yes please.”

He seemed relieved that she was pushing the glass away. At least green tea was better than wine.
