Pomni:

Inspired by traditional jesters and commedia dell’arte, especially Pierrot, Il Capitano and Harlequin (I took clown class when I was like, 12-ish… random lore drop…)

Jax:

Inspired by the sort of roguish child in fairy tales, especially Jack and the Beanstalk and Hansel and Gretel. Wanted to make him look like one of those children who grew up but never quite matured, still living in those adventures of his youth

Ragatha:

Tried to add a somewhat porcelain element to her design, while still keeping her as a ragdoll. Also tried to balance farm girl with rich girl in her dress. Inspired by The Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan

Kinger:

Wanted to make him into a marble statue, like the ones of European kings. I wanted to include his hands but couldn’t figure out how, I’ll try to add them in later probably. Inspired by The Happy Prince and Alice in Wonderland

Zooble:

Wasn’t sure how to fit her in with the fairy-tale vibe I was going for??? Settled for just making her more natural, and combining wood with animal parts. Vaguely inspired by Snow White and Rose Red and The Juniper Tree, but only vaguely

Gangle:

Bonus sketches I did while trying to work up the courage to actually just draw the fellow
