Don't use the word 'retard'

Don't support Autism Speaks

Use the infinity symbol instead of the puzzle piece

Use tone tags (/j, /srs, etc)

I'm honestly not a huge fan of the abbreviated tone tags, because it's a whole other set of social jargon that needs to be memorized. I feel like it is generally better to write it out, either in parentheses or as part of the sentence.

For example, /nm means "not mad" (mad as in angry). Instead of saying, "Did you do the dishes? /nm" it would be more clear to write it as, "Did you do the dishes? I'm not angry, just asking." Or, "Did you do the dishes? (Not mad)"

To be clear, I am not mad at OP or anyone who uses abbreviated tone tags, I just feel like they make communication unnecessarily opaque at times and it would be much better to write stuff out fully, even as just a parenthetical tag, such as /serious or (serious) instead of just /srs.
